Blast from the past today.
1985 Canterbury vs Auckland Ranfurly Shield starting teams.Although I was a neutral that day and still at primary school, that game will always linger in my memory.
I recall O'Gorman was a replacement...

Ok. I got 18.
Would never ever EVER have got Canterbury 14.
Should have got but didn't Caterbury 1, 3,4, 6, 7, 8 and 13. Really pissed off I didn't get 6 7 8 particularly 7.
Recall Auckland 2 but wouldn't have got him.
Akl 8 I may have got with time.
Should have got Akl 4 (but didn't think far enough back) and 7.

-
BTW Akl 2 spells his first name correctly! ! !
-
29/30.
Missed the Canterbury right winger.

I was at this game.
I got all the Cantabs (14 I had to dredge the memory bank for - and in fact recalled the right guy while I was trying to remember Andrew McMaster).
11 Auks - missed 2, 8, 9 and 12. Should definitely have got 9 and possibly 12.
I clicked the give up button with only the 14 remaining and trying to type McMaster in several different ways, assuming it wouldn't accept it coz he'd done a typo again .....

When I think I've run out of quiz ideas, another one appears! Wanting to do the teams from the 1993 Waikato vs Auckland shield match but struggling to find them on the net anywhere.
Any ideas guys?

@Nepia Hey - No. 1 was an All Black. He had an exceptional record of coming from the bench in every test he played in and scoring a try in every test he played in.
He also lost every test he played in!
Ill-fated Stu Wilson as captain tour!
Damn, I loosely know the name, but that's about it. I'm glad I was more interested in playing that supporting in those days, that tour would have been frustrating as fudge for supporters.

Many thanks to @Bovidae for help with sourcing the player names.

@booboo A tip: I only type in the players surname so never worry about their first name.
@Bovidae my point about his first name is that he used the correct number of i's. I applaud his Scottish heritage. Too many of English heritage scrimp on the correct number of vowels in the spelling.
FYI I dont usually guess with the first name. Unless something like "Jonah" is going to get recognised.
Was perturbed that no matter how many timeszl I typed "Fitzy" or "Fitzpatrick" it wasn't accepted.
