Any predictions for the main event?

    I have no strong opinion.

Maybe Whittaker? I don’t think he’ll let the fight stay at the Adesanya range.

If he's fully fit, then Whittaker.

If not, Adesanya will exploit it quickly.

Al v Dan could be the fight of the night though.

In Melbourne for the fight and just watched the weigh-ins. The old style genuine weighing are so much better for the fans

Aussie crowd strangely quiet. Too early? I assume they’ll be drunk tomorrow despite the early start

    Plenty of boos for Israel

Ragin Al is tiny next to Hooker

Adesanya could've knocked Whittakers block off to be fair after that knock-out, and its the measure of the man he didn't - stunning victory

    Incredible results for city kickboxing

    Adesanya’s striking is freakish

Hooker I thought might squeak a victory against Al, but he did far better than that. So happy about that result, that’s huge for his career.

Riddell’s debut was entertaining, one of the more enjoyable fights on the card. Shame he didn’t quite get the finish

Aussie crowd was strangely quiet until the main event. Not a great night for their fighters either

Now give Auckland a big card in 2020

Adesanya knocks out Whittaker to unify UFC title

Adesanya knocks out Whittaker to unify UFC title

Israel Adesanya knocked out Robert Whittaker with a right-hook-left-hook combination at 3:33 of the second round Saturday in the main event of UFC 243 in Melbourne, Australia. Adesanya unified the middleweight title with the stoppage victory.

Funny how ESPN always refer to him as a Nigerian, when he appears to ID as a NZer

    @canefan
Identifies as both, fights under the Nigerian flag but has done all his development in NZ and fought under the NZ flag in his kickboxing days. Could be a marketing decision as there are plenty of Nigerians and Nigerian descent globally.

Great win, Adesanya on track to be a great.

(the screenshot has a minor error, Riddell is 1-0 but the total of 10-0 is correct)

    Thats a hell of record

Volkanovski has a chance to get a title in December too

He should be the early favourite for the Halberg coach of the year.. But the Halbergs only reward Olympic sports and sometimes rugby

Adesanya posted this on instagram yesterday

(prompting the usual confusion from Americans about the term 'All Black' etc)
