There's a bit of a fight coming up this weekend apparently
-
Prediction?
Al Iaquinta is a decent fighter, but the fact he struck Khabib so many times makes me think it could be an early KO for Conor.. at the same time I don't see Conor getting up if Khabib gets him down and starts mauling him.
The whole fight depends on when the first successful take down is??

First and foremost hopefully all the bouts take place. Recent history has me worried about that.
From the bottom,
EARLY PRELIMS
Tony Martin; Gray Maynard; Lina LansbergPRELIMS
Alan Patrick; Aspen Ladd; Vicente Luque; Sergio PettisMAIN CARD
Felice Herrig; Derrick Lewis; Ovince Saint Preux; Tony FergusonConor McGregor
Too quick, too powerful, too smart

I think that fight is off?
I’ll post my guesses for every fight later in the week

Here are my uneducated guesses:
Early Prelims
Ryan LaFlare vs Tony Martin
Gray Maynard vs Nik Lentz
Lina Länsberg vs Yana Kunitskaya
Prelims
Scott Holtzman vs Alan Patrick
Aspen Ladd vs Tonya Evinger
Vicente Luque vs Jalin Turner
Sergio Pettis vs Jussier Formiga
Main Card
Michelle Waterson vs Felice Herrig
Derrick Lewis vs Alexander Volkov
Ovince Saint Preux vs Dominick Reyes
Tony Ferguson vs Anthony Pettis
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregorI'm expecting the main event to be one sided, but not entirely sure in which direction. Picking Conor because the fight starts on the feet and Khabib can be sloppy against good strikers. One take down might be enough for Khabib though.
-
Indeed.
If I was Khabib I would come out fast and go straight for the takedown.
If it meant taking an Aldo shot, so be it.
But if he got McG to the ground in less than 20 secs it's game over.
-
My advice above may not be the best
-
No one can deal with Khabib on the ground
Conor lasted longer than expected in those situations but tapped out in the 4th
Khabib is a piece of shit.
Herb Dean had to push him away from Conor after the tap. Then he jumps the fence to attack one of Conors coaches after the fight.
In the chaos a Khabib team member jumps in and punches Conor from behind after he's recovering from a chokeKhabib should get suspended and lose his belt
Tony vs Conor will be fun. They should fight for an open belt
-
What I saw appeared to be repeated attempts to assault a recovering athlete and start a riot in front of 20,000 people. Pathetic. The Irishman had previously received criminal charges for attacking a bus. Pathetic too.
As far from the sportsmanship of the All Blacks against the Boks as you could possibly imagine.

That reaction by Khabib et al. was pretty fucken bad in terms of a massive Fuck You to the conventions and authority of professional fighting.
This was pure rage and disrespect, no showboating at all, raw narcissism.
UFC will have to react strongly.
If it were me, I'd ban him and team for 2 years, soak up the overreaction with a straight face, reduce the ban to one year in 6 months, ensure Conor gets 60 million and start up the rumour mill for a PPV rematch at ban's end.
Either way those nasty Russian boys need a decent example set as a deterrent for the future

Which is EXACTLY why people watch UFC.
UFC will have to react strongly.
In order to maintain licenses etc, yes they will.

60 mill to Conor? For what exactly? Getting his arse kicked?
Khabib, rightly, can claim the higher purse for the rematch. He owned him.

For licenses, yes. However, I think this reaction is pretty much so perfect marketing for UFC.
