Confirmation Harmon is with the Highlanders now
This was in a stuff article:
The Crusaders have lost flanker Billy Harmon to the Highlanders and, unsurprisingly, they’re set to lose more fringe players as they pursue minutes elsewhere.
Harmon only played three games (two starts) for the Crusaders this year, and on Wednesday told media he signed a two-year deal with the Highlanders after the red and blacks didn't put an offer on the table. “I’ll be honest, there was only one option,” Harmon said. Billy Harmon has signed a two-year deal with the Highlanders after appearing just three times for the Crusaders this year. Billy Harmon has signed a two-year deal with the Highlanders after appearing just three times for the Crusaders this year. Highlanders coach Aaron Mauger, whose own future remains up in air, told Stuff last month the Dunedin-based franchise had 10 spots to fill, so it’s no surprise they’ve been sniffing about.

i know nothing about him, any good? i expect a certain level coming from the saders

Yep hes a good no 7 abrasive good pick up for you. Surprised the Crusaders never offered him a contract.
-
@Chris He's quite small, isn't he? Even for an openside? And has had quite a few injuries, the last few years? Good player though. You'd think they only let him go if they have found a better alternative, or intend to convert a blindside into an openside, or something like that.

He is a bit small but he a 100% player so good pick up
Knowing the Crusaders not offering him a contract means they have an alternative lined up somewhere not a 7 but there is talk around Canterbury rugby circles of Frizell coming to the Crusaders,

If Bryn Gatland decides to move North, the Landers should go after McClutchie. I doubt the Hurricanes will be smart enough to sign him and the Landers have the benefit of already having Fakatava in the squad (assuming he's staying). I think there's an advantage of having a half-pairing that also plays together in Mitre 10 Cup.

No they can have Brett Cameron we will pay his plane ticket down there.

@Stargazer i do like combinations sticking together, if hunt is 10 back up and we're tlaking about a third choice that might not get a lot of game time i wouldn't mind someone young and local like when we had quasie

Here's the official announcement by the Highlanders:

he might need a little media training, telling the media his old club didn't want him and so he didn't have a choice but to sign....
