And tomorrow is Black Monday, where a bunch of coaches start looking for new jobs.
Biggest name being thrown around is Belicheck, which just shows that even legends have a shelf life when the wins dry up.Obviously Las Vegas, the Chargers, and Carolina already fired their coaches, but who else makes a move? Washington, Chicago, maybe Atlanta? The jags losing today might have got their coach sacked too.

Rivera from Washington the only other (and super predictable) casualty. Stays of execution for everyone else.
Interesting rumours from Pittsburg that Tomlin isn't in the gun, but may "take some time off"
-
Vrabel is a good coach, and that's a terrible firing by the Titans.

Titans fire their head coach Mike Vrabel.
Huge fall from grace.
Vrabel will suddenly become an option for these other teams (Patriots immediately come to mind given his connections)
Panic firing. I'd laugh if Vrabel went to NE, and Belichick went to Tennessee

i read a few things that suggest it wasn't really coaching performance, it was not seeing eye yo eye with the GM about the team's immediate future. GM wanted to trade and bring in draft capital, coach wanted to keep players in a win-now type arrangement.
in that case probably fair, you need united purpose in a league with that little room for error
-
@mariner4life He got a bit shafted by his GMs in his time.
They trade away AJ Brown
They drop a huge contract on Tannehill
Now they don't want to compete.
-
that's big news in Seattle. Pete, for all his energy, is pretty old, and the Seahawks need a rebuild, so it's a good move i think.
Of all the open gigs, Seattle looks good. Chargers look good on paper. Raiders wouldn't be bad either.
-
Rumours at the Eagles won't go away either, he could be coaching for his job this week

They have tapered off after a strong start

Washington isn't bad either.
New owners, number 2 overall pick, 5 top 100 draft picks, most cap space in the League.

Nick Saban has retired. With Jim Harbaugh almost certainly leaving that's the 2 biggest names in College coaching gone.
It's an interesting what-if for Saban's NFL career if the Dolphins doctor had cleared Drew Brees - instead Brees goes to the Saints and Payton is still coaching in the NFL today.
-
And it's now confirmed Belicheck is gone.
6 fucking Superbowls.
-
Belicheck, Carroll, and Saban in like 24 hours? Just a huge shift in the foundations of football. Those guys felt every present.
-
A very Cleveland Browns way for your season to end.
Pay $230M guaranteed and trade 3 first round picks to the Texans for a disgraced QB only for the Texans to turn around and destroy you in a playoff game with a rookie QB who looks a better prospect than the QB you traded for.
-
Goddam the Texans being good hurts my heart as a Denver fan
That was dominant
And so were the chiefs in the frozen game today. Absolutely destroyed the Dolphins whonpaid the price for their late season collapse
