@canefan I thought it was illegal to use helmet to hit with on purpose, college game I watched last week player was penalised for it.
College has stricter rules than the NFL. Leading with the helmet a penalty but unnecessary roughness rather than targeting. (That means it's not reviewable and not an automatic ejection) It's technically a foul if either the offence or the defence does it but it's quite unusual for it to be called against the offence. It generally has to be blatantly leading with the helmet (eg lowering the head) and striking with the crown of the helmet rather than a glancing blow.
NFL rule book is insane in the level of detail it goes into.

a fairly meaningless weekend of football comes to an end with the Lions just missing a play off spot.
Funniest thing today was the Texans and a coach definitely getting fired tomorrow saying "fuck you!!" to tanking by going for the win at the death, and thus dropping to the 2nd overall pick.
Some interesting games next week, is it just a scheduling quirk that there are so many in-division games?
Still looking like a 3-way shit fight in the AFC, while the NFC you would think, bar a disgraceful choke job, is the Niners again playing the championship game, this time against the Eagles.

But still being motivated enough after being eliminated from playoff contention to beat Packers and ensure Rodgers misses the playoffs.
NFC North will be interesting this offseason with presumably more Rodgers drama.

they definitely play for Dan Campbell, and i can't see him looking for a new job tomorrow. Could be a few let go though.
As an illustration how much Hackett sucked, look at the Broncos the past 2 weeks. Wonder who we end up with?

Interesting stat: 49ers had the weakest strength of schedule this season: .417, next weakest was the chargers at .443. Only played 4 teams with winning records.
In fact I can almost see all three wild cards winning in the NFC. Vikings are just the most ridiculously jammy team so if that luck runs out the Giants are capable of taking them down. The Bucs are attrocious and are one of the worst teams I can remember in the playoff for a few years and should get destroyed by the cowboys. And maybe the 49ers are more vulnerable than they seem. Only problem is that the Seahawks are a division rival that they've beaten twice this year already so I suspect that they'll win the trilogy match to go 3-0 over the Seahawks.

only 2 so far
Lovie Smith from the Texans
Kliff Kingsbury from the Cards. Just after a fat extension too.

Haven't really watched much NFL, but have to say have enjoyed a bit of the college stuff on sky, I can actually could understand what was happening a bit more. Same with basketball.
Not a great showpiece in the college national championship game.
65-7.

Michigan would have probably presented a stronger challenge. But they fluffed their lines in the SF

@ACT-Crusader plenty of tasty games in there. Looking forward to it

@ACT-Crusader Agree with most, also depends on which Vikings team turns up, like an Ian Foster coached team, capable of brilliance and diabolical dumb shit all within the same game, could sneak in if they play to potential but only by less than 5 point margin..I expect them to lose, but picking them for the win because we are all writing them off.
