The GoFundMe page Damar ran is about to tick over $1M of a $2500 goal.
Bills Mafia are awesome
That was for a Toy Drive for the local community.

MNF.
Damar Hamlin of the Bills collapses after a routine tackle. 9 minutes of CPR, then into an ambulance. It's terrifying - game postponed. Incredible scenes I have never seen before.
Sounds like another Christian Erikson situation

Slight OT: how good are these college football playoff games. That TCU win over Michigan was huge. Emari Demercado was a beast.
Then Georgia hang on for a nail biter against Ohio State, who I wanted to go all the way.
That Tulane win over USC was big time too.
Would love TCU to get over the Bulldogs and cause a big upset.

Jim Harbaugh comes up short in a championship game. Story of his coaching career.
Be interesting if he goes back to the NFL (rumour is Broncos are interested).

@ACT-Crusader It would have been good to have an all Big 10 final.

Some speculation.
Was it a helmet to chest hit? I am always puzzled by the NFL rationale that they need helmets for protection and yet so often they are used offensively

No. He was the tackler. Heavy chest to chest impact.

Looked like helmet was there too. But I've seen much worse. He might have an undiagnosed condition like Christian Eriksen

i saw an interesting hypothesis where there is a split second in the heartbeat cycle where the heart is actually quite exposed and in danger. If the hit was right at this minuscule point in time, and throw in a hit of adrenalin from the whiplash effect, and his heart rhythm gets proper fucked up. Hence why he got up, but then immediately collapsed.
scary shit man. the collision sports really are stupid

They used to teach the precordial thump in resuscitation courses. My basic understanding is if you see someone collapse it is possible to correct their cardiac arrhythmia by administering a hard hit to the sternum. Perhaps the principle behind this applies here, that you can knock someone out of rhythm. Either way they got to him super fast, so that should increase his chances of survival, without knowing exactly what has gone wrong

@canefan I thought it was illegal to use helmet to hit with on purpose, college game I watched last week player was penalised for it.
College has stricter rules than the NFL. Leading with the helmet a penalty but unnecessary roughness rather than targeting. (That means it's not reviewable and not an automatic ejection) It's technically a foul if either the offence or the defence does it but it's quite unusual for it to be called against the offence. It generally has to be blatantly leading with the helmet (eg lowering the head) and striking with the crown of the helmet rather than a glancing blow.
NFL rule book is insane in the level of detail it goes into.
