Highlanders v Blues

So this will probably be DC's debut
I guess they'll start him at fullback because that's what they planned to do before the calf strain? From MacDonalds comments it seems likely BB will stay at 10
A backs bench of: A Halfback, O Black & H Plummer? 4 10's in the 23?

really? i hadn't heard that
-
Slightly off, he was covering fullback/10 from the bench when he got scratched
-
Go the Highlanders. I think if the Blues win this with a bonus point then it removes the Canes from contention. Hopefully someone can prove me otherwise.
-
we took them close in auckland....at home....after a bye...god knows...we'll either win by 20 or loose by 20, really just hoping for another good game
-
I want the Blues to win and DC to play a fucking blinder.

Injuries really starting to bite at the back end of the season. These derbies are massive; great to watch, but so brutal.
On paper, BLues by heaps ... but WTF knows? Landers seem really well coached at the moment, they are maximising their talent

No it doesn't. Canes have 2 games left. Blues have 2 games left.
-
@KiwiMurph yeah but if they win with a bonus point then it will most likely mean the winner of the Crusaders v Blues will take the crown.
-
I'd be tipping Highlanders for this one - I don't think Blues have ever won under the roof.
Highlanders with Ioane at 10 are a different beast.
I expect Highlanders off the bye to run Blues ragged under the roof who are into their 4th straight game.
-
@KiwiMurph I hope you're right.
-
Highlanders $2.40
Blues $1.52 -

No the Crusaders have to lose another game for that last match to be a 'final'. They have 3 games left:

@Duluth oh right. Maybe the Chiefs will pull one out of the bag this weekend.

Be great for the comp if it comes down to the last game.

Walden to be named in the starting side and last 5 minutes before receiving a red card for viciously taking out DC off the ball.
Hammett to be interviewed at halftime and just say "See!".
-
@Bones cant we get someone we dont like to do that?!

Michael Collins won't get near even old man Dan
-
@mariner4life if he did catch him he wouldn't let go though, not with hands like those

KW outs himself as the guy getting professional rugby players to take others out.
"We" indeed. Don't try and get me involved in your filthy gang mate.
-
@Bones sorry for the delay, just imagining who i'd make arrangements for first
-
just saw on the highlanders facebook story what looked like 10. Ioane 12. Collins...then Hunt...that must be 15 coming into the line
-
The missus has convinced me that we should go down for this game so I'll be attending this game. I think shes worried that I'll break the TV one day during a Blues game hence the reason to drag me to dunners instead haha but Im not complaining, never been to forsyth Barr before which I'm looking forward to seeing.
I feel like an upset could be on here. We usually get done down there and Smith really does lift the rest of the side.
Highlanders by 5.

lined up tickets? i enjoy the north stand (opposite the main stand), its steep and very close to the action

@African-Monkey great stadium, almost as good as the caketin. Watch out for @Smudge lurking in the loos.

He's safe. I'll be on the couch at home in Wadestown...

I've been there once, for a test match. Stadium is nice but our seats in the temporary stadium on the end were tight as, and the other facilities were pretty scant

You're on six figures aren't you.
-
@African-Monkey you'll love it, a great place to watch rugby. I went in 2011, and was blown away by it - just a wonderful stadium, one of the top 3 rugby in NZ (NH, Waikato, Dunedin).
-
Hopefully Sotutu is back this week.
If DC is ready to go, I think he'll replace Plummer on the bench.
-
@Kiwiwomble Yeah sitting in the North Stand. Looks a good view from there so looks like I chose the right stand then haha.
-
Despite Beauden Barrett taking a limited part in training today as he recovers from the knock to the ribs he sustained against the Chiefs, he is expected to retain his place at first five-eighth, with Otere Black likely to come off the bench and Matt Duffie at fullback. The Blues are expected to, therefore, name a largely unchanged side for the Highlanders, with No 8 Hoskins Sotutu also absent from their field session as he continues to recover from his knee injury that kept him sidelined for the past two matches. Hooker James Parsons also remains unavailable with ongoing concussion symptoms.

@Kiwiwomble surely Reiko one on one is a nightmare match up for Collins? Especially given his acceleration of the first two steps?
-
@mariner4life cant argue with that other than very few people in the comp are a match for him...thats why hes an AB
our whole backline is pretty vanilla...small/thin fast guys (nareki, koroi, hunt) or slightly more built but slower guys (Thompson, collins and even theyre not really big guys)....sio is the closest we probably have to a bit of both in the current group being selected...its a long way from when we had Fekitoa, naholo and osborune

There’s granny flats in every suburb, even the posh ones.
-
Blah blah blah, no Walden, blah blah blah.
-
Thompson is on the outer too. I rate Tomkinson below both he and Walden.
