Watched a bit of the Rebels training last night and had a quick chat to Dave Wessels, this should be the game of the round. Still picking the Brumbies as they were the form team and had less of an impact to their preparation.

These at least look like Super teams and not development squads like the Tahs.

They've got a young squad and let's face it, the experience in it wasn't exactly delivering prior to covid. So what's to lose?

In fairness the Tahs also have multiple injuries
Jake Gordon (hamstring), Karmichael Hunt (hamstring), Tom Robertson (back) and Lalakai Foketi (hamstring)

The Brumbies should win this easily. That line-up looks much stronger than any of the other Aussie teams.
I like the Rebels backline and in my view is probably the strongest of the OZ teams, but they have issues up front so quality of ball and space might be an issue.
Toomua playing his 100th SR game might give the Rebels a lift.

@Yeetyaah it’s a tough watch compared to the Landers and Saders game. The pace of the NZ derby seems a couple of notches above.
It is their first game back though so hopefully it gets better as it goes on. Also those night games in the dead of winter at Canberra Stadium aren’t easy given its probably cold and the wind shield is a shocker.

This games a bit shit so far.
Hard to watch after the kiwi game. Not helped by the Aus teams still adjusting to the stricter interpretations. Penalty count is really high
Rebels struggling to get anything going on attack

Haha Rebels hooker not happy about being replaced at the 68th minute. Hardly surprising
-
Windy Canberra night, pretty simple throw to 2.
-
That maul was interesting.

Pleased I didn't go sit in an empty cold stadium to watch that.
