Before the Ioane injury, it was rumoured they were going to put Hunt at fullback

Maybe stay with that plan and start Gatland at 10?

hunt played well at 10, hoping he's found his groove so would like him to go again

    @Kiwiwomble

He did play well. Gatland has gone ok late in games too

I think the most important thing for the Highlanders right now is picking the least shit fullback

McKay is a fullback so surely that would be better than trying to manufacture one (e.g., Gregory).

    These number are probably accurate..

    H v C.png

Highlanders have won 2 of the last 3 at home vs the Crusaders (ignoring the 0-0 cancelled game in 2019)

On current form I think they'd have a ok chance if it was pissing with rain and they hadn't built a roof

thats what i said before the blues game, table topping team, on form...why debut someone, McKay has been in the team for a couple of years so should be less pressure...its weird

Cullen Grace out with a broken thumb. Feel sorry for him but it's excellent news for Ethan Blackadder.

    Josh Ioane injured this week

    Gilbert out for nine months

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/121988586/super-rugby-aotearoa-highlanders-rule-out-josh-ioane-and-lose-sam-gilbert

damn it, Koroi to fullback and McKay to the wing maybe?....no, Koroi to 15, Walden to 12 and sio to the wing

    Hahaha you're dreaming!

McKay is shit too. Now that I'm getting used to selection policies, I think we'll probably see Walden to the wing, McKay to 10 and Hunt at fullback.

that's a bit harsh, he hasn't had any shockers and hasn't had more than one or two games in a row, give him a shot, he does well for canterbury

@Bones just watching some highlights, there arent loads admittedly but he has a knack of being right on the shoulder when a break of turnover happen and has some wheels

I can't think of a back in the squad that I wouldn't rather see on the wing. Anyone could do at least as good a job.

    Even Hunt.

I feel sorry for Gilbert who did better than expected on the right wing : not bad against the Chiefs and very good against the Blues before his injury.

Now it’s starting to sound weirdly personal

Well weirdly it is my personal opinion....

I really don't see what he offers. He's supposed to have pace yet I've never seen that displayed to a wow extent. Breaks tackles? Maybe as many as Parsons if he's lucky. Elusive? The amount of times I've seen him going backwards attached to someone else would say no. Powerful? See previous sentence.

    Just no.
