@kpkanz πŸ˜‚ what would that bias be?

I can only think of external factors if you watched that game today and thought he was 'utter shit'.

I can only think of clear bias if you watched an experienced AB play like that today and didn't think he was playing utter shit (for him). He runs across field, and unless he's put into space by someone else generally kills the attack. The most obvious one, he had three glaringly better options than running across to the sideline and popping an utter shit pass to no-one. Three! An experienced AB. He chose the fourth utter shit option. At test level, that is what all his less noticeable meanders to nowhere will result in.

But you make a good point, Mitch Hunt might be the safer option.

    Oh and welcome aboard!

Funny how the most obvious incident was the ONLY incident as well (the same incident you keep bringing up). Almost as if no other mistakes were made by him tonight πŸ˜‚

    Who disappointed?

Aumua, Perenera, Sevu Reece, Akira Ioane, Ofa T, Bridge, Both Hunts. (All played better in SRA).

Who surprised in a positive way?

Tom Christie. I thought he looked excellent.

Jordie Barrett. So much better this season.

Yeah sorry for not going back and citing all the incidents. I'll probably do a rewatch but not immediately after on a Saturday morning.

    Great match for the non-partisan.

So that "much better backrow" from the North - according to some Ferners - wasn't much better after all. Of the starting loosies, Sotutu had a very good game; but - and I'm far from a fan of Sanders - he had a good game as well. Frizell was better than AIoane, but neither really stood out. Savea was underwhelming, while youngster T Christie wasn't bad at all, especially if you take into consideration the huge difference in experience between the two.

I remember when we used to see Read ranging on the wing, taking contact and popping passes like that....

Loved the game. Hope this becomes a regular fixture. Jordie is definitely growing into his body, becoming a bit of a weapon.

Random thought on McKenzie. He's had his critics this year and rightly so, but I think he played pretty well, best he's been all year.

#NorthVSouth was the top trender on UK Twitter this morning. NZR's sponsors will be very happy.

@Yeetyaah steady on mate that's pretty random discussing a player's game in the game thread.

@Yeetyaah He does good stuff but I would have Jordie over him any day. His bad pass and Ralphs brain farct gave away points. He is great at times. Having said that Jordie makes the occassionally mistake too πŸ™‚ but I like his size, especially at international rugby level. Should have been a half back.

He is getting old. We need to look forward to 4 years and who will have the job then. He looked good because Mitch Hunt was on the field.

Thought North loosies much more dynamic/balanced when Papali'i (world's largest 7?) came on and Ardie went to 8. Perhaps Sotutu short of a gallop?

Christie was very good. I think he was helped playing in 'Crusaders' pack, whereas Frizell didn't seem to get the opportunities he did so well with at Clan. Sanders also gave it heaps.

Height a big plus in modern kicking game. DMac suffers from same problem as Mitchell Hunt.
