Wonder when and if DC gets a run.He was three weeks away from even being considered for selection when they announced his signing. And then was looked as midfield and maybe fullback cover (basically the role that Plummer is doing I guess).
Be nice to have him off the bench in one game at Eden Park.
Be nicer f he came off the bench when you're 3 points up away at Canterbury!
Or comes on and wins the game with a last minute drop goal?
and then does a Mhertz salute running off the field!!
Any excuse

@Kiwiwomble yeah. Yet tomkinson is a great winger, Walden is ten times the 12 he is, Hunt is a passable fullback and shit ten, Gatland is a decent ten.
Selection is an absolute farce but has to be expected in teams infected with Hammett.

really happy with our forward pack, think we can at least go toe to toe if not win...only issue will be the new rules and if they will hinder us and then we'll either
- try and go wide and get a bit caught out
- try a kicking game and that blues back three will punish us

The Highlanders have won 5 of the last 6 matches between the sides. Including 2 of the last 3 at Eden Park
Clearly they should be favourites. I think the underdogs have a reasonable chance though
....have you seen how the blues are playing compared to how we've been playing?...thats a much better gauge for who is the fav

Haha, nice try, but the Highlanders are clearly not the favourites this year.
Rubbish. You're using feelings. I'm using logic. The undefeated Highlanders are favourites

it feels like your trolling but i'll bite a little...undefeated in one game, compared to two games for the blues
we just scraped past the chiefs...at home...when the blues beat them comfortably
its at home for the blues
TAB have blues as favs
and before covid the blues we riding high on the table and we were struggling with largely the same squads...except we had ioane then
facts = blues favs to win

I’ve been to almost every Blues home game since I returned to NZ in 2013. Think of all the shitty performances I sat through during the Kirwan/Umaga years.. then there were the cruel games where the Blues outplayed the opposition but still manage to lose in the last 5mins
It’s going to be a long time before I watch a game confident of a win.
This year has been fun so far
Blues favourites, but the Highlanders are a lot more dangerous than most people think

@Bones im not sure i'd even say sio is he was a great winger but walden is better in the midfield definitely
Koroi is actually a really good 10, very attacking/creative....yeah...nervous
What's the oil on Walden missing out altogether. Couldn't see him on the injured list. Any idea?

He was injured to start the super season and then they stuck with the (doomed from the start) failed experiment of Ioane at 12 and Misery Hunt at 10. It's starting to smell like something else now with the ridiculous selections going on seemingly just to ensure our 2nd best back last year doesn't even make the bench.

Oh god, yes. They have been super long years, except it's been since 2007 for me. All of the Shawshank, so little redemption
