@Nepia Yeah, but didn't pick that from his full name and only 7 tests!

7 tests back then is the equivalent of 60 odd these days. šŸ™‚

@Stockcar86 Excellent. Hesketh gets the 14 jersey; I've moved Sullivan to the bench. I've left Bourke where he is (6). Still need another lock ...

I've just been thinking. Glen Horton ahead of Makene at fullback?

(15 of the 21 played before 1965 and none of them are famous All Blacks)

Stead must rank as one of the Great All Blacks:

@sparky Like Stead, I suggested Mark Nicholls for the Wellington College team.

    @Stargazer

I’d have Karne Hesketh on the wing for Napier as a RWC try scorer for Japan against South Africa

And If they are playing in their high school positions, put Colin Bourke at fullback

Yeah Glen Horton would be my fullback he was amazing at high school. Karne was 2nd5 at 1st 15 level (openside prior to that) only moved wider once he got to Alhambra.

Some heavy hitters in this team.

You've got to have Orene Ai'i in there somewhere - he was simply brilliant at KBHS

I'm sure I watched him play in the 1996 secondary schools final and absolutely carve it up...

@junior Yeah, for Otahuhu against Kelston, think it was 97.

Is Ken Laban a secret Fern lurker, this thread sounds like his wet dream.

My school could only think of: Jerry Collins (you could probably add Brenda too), Murray Mexted, Scott Couch, Jeremy Kyne (played for Canada)

Not my school but Mana College at a quick punt. There's probably guys before 1990 that I can't Google easily.

A few of additions off the top of my head... there is bound to be more obvious ones that I can't think of right now...

Edit: Shall we throw in Adam Blair at no.6, I'm sure he would have had a game or two of rugby at school...

Nice one. CC really lack any illustrious or notable ABs: it's only Moody and Hobbs really.

CBHS, without delving into any archives:

    15 C Slade / W Jordan
    14 S Hamilton
    11 D Gibson
    13 A Leinert-Brown / N Mauger
    12 A Mauger
    10 D Carter / A Mehrtens
    9 Scott Hansen
    8 N Manu
    7 M Todd
    6 A Thompson
    5 L Romano
    4 B Retallick
    3 O Franks
    2 A Dixon
    1 B Franks / D Hewett / R Loe

Fergie McCormack could be the fullback in this side, and Bob Deans could play 13. Tony Steel could be one of the wingers. Helluva backline.
