This thread is great reading now. The comms were talking about Eden Park being a weird place to play because sometimes 350+ gets chased down easily and other days 250 is too much.
Plenty of work ons but over all a pretty good performance. Middle order needs a long hard look at itself, and the bowlers were good until they let Saini get away from them.
Jadeja is a great cricketer. Just so good at every aspect of the game, and seems to thrive the more pressure there is.
Satisfying to win a series missing our best bat, and three best bowlers. Plus two more missing today and Timmy sick.
Criticism of Chapman a bit harsh I think. He's a part timer who was the last resort was never likely to bowl. If he becomes a regular black cap it will be as a top order bat.

Holy fuck I can't believe we won that game with a second strong bowling lineup. Incredible.

I agree. He might go on to have a good career, in his chances thus far he seems to have had stage fright.
It would have been a mistake to have him bowl tonight I think. Eden Park against India is not the time to have a part time inexperienced spinner bowling under pressure.
Having said that, I think Latham should have bowled Neesham a bit earlier than he did, because the way he managed the bowlers, he might have had to throw the ball to Chapman..

Well after the Aus debacle we were right to be scathing of the way we started this series. As it stands now we should have won the last three T20s, and are now 2-0 up in the ODIs with a severely depleted squad.
Our top ODI team is better than India, and our second string team is proving too much for them as well. Good stuff, that's a really satisfying win.
Jamieson looks like he has all the raw materials. His first class numbers aren't amazing but still pretty early days for him, very interested to see how he develops. That was a fantastic debut.
Plleeenntty to work on, the missed run outs in particular are so frustrating. It's not good enough at this level, many of those are not that difficult and we're making a meal of it nearly every time. Also, why the hell are they trying to throw down the stumps with bounce throws? Just idiotic, hit the stumps on the full you clowns.
Anyway nice to get a couple of Ws on the board, it's been a tough old summer of cricket.

I can cope with missed run outs, it's the ball being in a different postal code that annoys me. The stumps are tough to hit, and most of those run out attempts were at one and a half stumps. But they were wildly off target. Fitting that when we finally got a runout it was from an error in the field.
