There’s no doubt Eddie has had a net positive effect on Collingwood and in turn the AFL. There’s genuine passion for the team and to take what was an absolute basket case of a club (off-field) and turn it around is a remarkable feat.
Brendon Gale managed to do that for Richmond and he's not a flog like Eddie.
Gale has had his moments though and said some dumb stuff over the years. And despite being at a big club that is in the news etc, he’s not Eddie and people aren’t looking to throw him to the gallows.
Nothing like the leader of the toothless unwashed.

fuck off flog
Feel better now petal?
A wonderfully successful AFL administrator. The mere fact that you wee flowers know so much about the great man is testimony to him keeping footy in the news and noticed better than anybody else. AFL owes a lot of publicity and exposure to good ol Ed from..., (what's that poor suburb he always boasts about growingup in?)Broadmeadows?
Did what every club president should do. Made big bank, expanded the club internationally, (any of your own dog shit clubs known in America? Endorsed by Pat McCafee?), grew membership, rigged the draw every year and was self effacing and admirably modest throughout.
No one can name any other club president currently in office. He'd bolster your club and bring the money in for sure😉I'd have a beer with Eddie if invited and so would you namsy wekas all caught up in your "I don't like him so he's bad" pout, and if you didn't take up the opportunity to talk sport with someone in the know then you might as well weld your toilet seat down . Puffs.
Nah, Eddie is like Warnie or perhaps Kearns or Fitzy. Basically fucksticks untill they're being fucksticks for your team. Eddie was a net positive for the Collingwood football club.
And get fucked Mariner you did not know I'd be a pies fluffybunny
🙂I’ve actually met the guy, or at least been on his show (I won Fastest Finger😁). Seemed a top bloke who works his arse off. Think he did 8 shows that day after doing morning radio and God knows what else. Don’t get the frothing at the mouth hate for the guy.

I can't find any 2021 Demons apparel online. Anybody else in the same boat with their club?? Anyone know how to get it?

Lions get Daniher on the same page as everyone else pretty much straight away...
and then lose Rayner for the season before it even starts. Fucking hell.
-
@mariner4life Yeah that sucks. Trials these days are as much about avoiding serious injuries as they are testing new combos and winning games.
Carlton look like they will be a bit better in 2021, Williams and Saad added a fair bit in the first trial. Goal kicking and key forwards will be an issue given how erratic and injury prone our forwards can be.

I think Carlton and GC will be pushing for the 8. I think the GC will fall a bit short based on their age profile, but i could see the Blues finishing 7-8. Who slides this year? someone always slides away.
-
@mariner4life Of the 2020 top 8, you'd say Collingwood would be the hot favourite to drop out. But I struggle to see any of Port, Brisbane, Richmond, Geelong or West Coast going anywhere.
St Kilda looked good in the trial and will probably be there or thereabouts, as will the Bulldogs.
But other than Essendon, North or Adelaide, I think every side has a chance to claim a top eight spot.
-
@barbarian i would be pretty surprised if Hawthorn made it to be honest
-
had been hoping this year would be when the swannies moved out of "rebuild", looked ok against the Giants on the weekend but not enough to win...so think we'll have another year of young blokes only having 1-3 quarters in them and eventually getting outlasted

Yeah same, and Sydney too. But both have a slim chance if everything goes their way.

Sydney need Buddy back doing Buddy things. You start to wonder if that is ever going to happen

Also having a sneaky look at Brownlow odds, I think Matt Rowell might be overs at $17. If (and it's a big if) he is as good as he looked in his brief stint last year then he is a top chance IMO.
As it is he's on the ninth line behind Neale, Cripps, Fyfe, Dusty, Bont, Danger, Petracca and Steele.
-
@barbarian definitely overs. If they get 10-12 wins, you think he is polling votes in all of them. That's gonna get you pretty close.
Can a young bloke who goes super hard, and has already fucked his shoulder once, stay fit though?
-
@mariner4life Well that's the question. His fortunes are tied to his health, and how good GWS is. If they are lower than 10th then you struggle to see him pulling enough votes.
But there's a narrative where the Suns improve to compete for the eight, with Rowell front and centre of that push. And in that narrative he is a great Brownlow shout. It's really hard to go back to back (so scratch Neale), Dusty tends to drift in and out of the regular season, Fyfe is great but is he three time winner great?, Cripps is going to lose touches to Walsh and Williams, and Danger is getting old.
I actually think Bont and Petracca are also decent shouts, if those teams can get beyond their 2020 placings.
-
@barbarian he'll also not have that many guys taking votes off him.
Would be a hell of a story.

we definitely do on both counts
in hind site, i think it was 2017 when he was famously only training for 15-20min a week as he had a game in him but that was t...might not have been good for him in the long run
the other side is we try and change what we do completely and stop relying on him, becasue we seem to even when hes not on the field...last year we'd have the great fast passing/running game out of our half...and then we'd bomb it forward as if he was there....and no one would be
