Good night at Cazalies last night. Terrible conditions again. Friday and Saturday were amazing days, then yesterday it rained all day. And it was fucking windy, meaning one end was where all the action was.
Swans looked good. First to the ball, and have good speed across the ground. The Lions basically won with talent, and being patient enough to wait for the 4th quarter when they have the best of the conditions. Got a bit tense when when Sydney kicked those couple in a row to get very close.
Niggly game, heaps of off the ball stuff (Neale cops an absolute shit load) and some really good hits. My boys loved it because there were two fights right in front of us. But the highlight from them was a Charlie Cameron motorbike in front of us after that goal in the 4th.
Guaranteed top 2 for the Lions now. Unfortunately we have lost to both our potential first week opponents, and we are the Tigers' bitches
thats good to hear, i watched and was just annoyed, we'd look good getting out of our own half....and then just bomb it forward..to no one...and then we'd do it again 5 ins later expecting a different outcome...we really need some tall forwards

forward 50 marks were near impossible to come by for both sides. Then suddenly in the 4th the Swans jag two in a row. I honestly believe elite footballers have forgotten how to compensate for wind.
The Swans have good speed around the ground, and go fucking hard at the ball. But just need more scoring talent.

yeah, got my hopes up for a second when we got within 2
as someone still picking the game up its just really stark...we'll do four or five handballs and or runs, and we'll look really good, fast....and then we'll just bomb it, and not always under pressure, we'll be in space and boot it...to no one, maybe keep running!
edit: good news is looks like Papley wants to stay now...i guess no one wants to come to Vic, one or two tall forwards for him to play of might make the world of difference

Yep.
Bulldogs v Freo and Pies v Port matches will determine who’s we play in week 1.
-
Tonights Collingwood v Port game will determine who plays who in the top 4, week one of the finals
-
so...the swans season ends with a whimper, probably for the best as far as draft picks, hopefully less injuries, a few good signings and the blooding our young squad has got this year will mean a better season next year

@ACT-Crusader the more i read that, the more i think the AA selectors are fucking idiots with massive blindspots
Collingwood have been fucking ordinary considering they have 4 of the best players in the comp this year
No Gold Coast players? None?
Melbourne, Collingwood and the Bulldogs won 28 games between them, finished 7, 8, and 9, and yet contribute 10 of the best 40 players in the comp this year? top work selectors.
Brisbane, Port and Richmond won 40 games, finished 1, 2, and 3, and contribute 11.
-
@mariner4life yep. Startling tunnel vision from the selectors.
A number of those Pies and Demons wouldn’t make my 22.
