RWC Final: England v Springboks

That is a great comeback. Proper coach proper selection and SA back at the summit.
-
First time we've had a RWC champion that lost a pool game. Not that that's relevant, but doubtless to pop up in pub quizzes and the like.
I guess we can put that into the moral victory cabinet though (along with the 2010 soccer world cup, only unbeaten team trophy).

I'm so sad. Better team won then.
The whole game lacked sexiness. -
Boks fully deserve this on the day. Clear simple plan, well executed, awesome defense and dominant scrummaging. Coupled with some bad luck (subjective view) and a few poor performances (objective view) for England, it was a comprehensive victory. Well done Boks!

Goes to show back to back performances are tough. We couldn’t back up our Irish win, and England had the same problem
I think having an easy quarter and possibly semi is a massive help

The whole game lacked sexiness.SA tries were pure old fashioned porn to me.

England and their arrogant coach celebrated beating the All Blacks like it was VE day. Hubris.
Nemesis comes in the form of the Springboks.
What a load of rubbish.
Most of the English fans are great. I was thinking about some of the rubbish that has been in the UK media this week.

No answer.
Outmuscled, outthought, outcoached

Our mistake was beating the Boks in the first game.
Oh well, thems the breaks sometimes. They were excellent tonight.

Plus I feel less pain than I might have expected. I listened to a BBC Sounds podcast earlier in the week where they were talking about what it would mean to the SA public for Kolisi to lift the trophy, and I thought that whilst I really want an England win, I'm able to live with the Boks as champions.
