RWC: Japan v Scotland (Pool A)

@Blackheart In that scenario Scotland would go through as they won the head to head against Japan.

Scottish cnuts, hope next decade when they want to play us again we give them and play Georgia.
You won't, because money.
Aren't we an "economic powerhouse of the game"?
Yes, but do you want Scotland Rugby to pay you in pounds or Georgia to pay you in tractor spares?
What kind of tractors are we talking about here?

@akan004 Ok so that's the ruling...great...Come on Scotland..I nice win by 8 would do the trick.
Either Scotland or Japan in the quarter would be fine, preferably Japan for me.

Really?
Not sure what the currency exchange is like in Georgia but I'll bet the NZRFU gets more out of Murrayfield?
And the Scots being Scots are bound to charge the players the standard ticket price at the turnstyle just to get into the ground thus making even more money!

IIRC there is no revenue sharing arrangement on the EOYTs. That has been the longstanding argument from Tew and co.
Scotland aren't exactly a marquee game.

I thought that was the case too . So they are effectively a complete waste of time and effort to the NZRU

We are the marquee name

@akan004 neither team has beaten the ABs but I agree Japan would be a better choice...anything than those bloody Micks...they know how to beat us.
Yeah. Ireland will be very tough so best to avoid them. We should beat either Scotland or Japan comfortably enough.

Yep. Those tractor parts are looking more attractive all the time.

I'm hoping for Japan in the quarter, Australia in the semi and France in the final. Always opt for the easy way out!

I spent a lot of money to attend that game. As much as I'm confident we'd beat the paddies I would prefer not to chance it. Besides, a Japan/Scotland, England, SA path to the final would be more desirable

@canefan better to beat Ireland in the 1/4 than chance losing to them in the final
They have the pressure of never getting past the next round, but if they built and made the final I reckon they'd be more dangerous.
Long term forecast is for over 50 mm of rain. Don't want to be playing a team like Ireland on a day like that.
-
The number 1 key to beating Ireland is defensive discipline. Of which Samoa has zero in the first half. Make Ireland gain territory rather than handing it to them on a penalty platter.
