This was the most appalling match Nigel Owens has refereed....at least three yellows missed by head high and neck rolls by the Irish and the penalty try was absurd...Todd was hemmed in there against the post by an Irish player and couldn't get away even if he tried...lucky that wasn't a decision that could've effected the out come of the match. The world's best Ref?????

    Fucking hell. Never happy aye?
I remember when Dan Carter got yellowed for a horrendous tackle against Wales and the Fern foamed endlessly at the mouth about the IRB (as was) conspiring with the illuminati, aliens, English rugby clubs and the man on the grassy knoll to besmirch his sainted name.
    Get a grip.

You over egged it with the Horrendous tackle bit. 6/10 , I gave you an extra point for coming back for the semis you don't read too much into those numbers.

Hit it too hard on Friday night, played some golf and went for a feed.

Had a little lie down before the game..... just woke up now.

    Nice to see we won

How the fuck did I not set an alarm

Try doing that for the next two could you?

Watching back the condensed version on Kayo.

Irish defence disintegrating in the face of an attack that isn't 6N rubbish.

Sexton and Kearney past their best.

And that penalty 40m our when 10-0 down. Why go for the corner? Gift three points for Sexton, surely?

The ruck shoulder charge penalty turnover from Irish 6 was gold tho. The two most cynical teams in world Rugby going at it.

    Irish 11 having a shocker

Pretty good run out there, thought the start was the key, had their foot on the throat and never removed.

That PT yellow was absurd, claiming Todd was off side (doesn't have to go further behind the line)

Thought Owens fine otherwise, the double penalty at half time was odd...Read has tackled the guy that was bound to the ball carrier...then that shoulder, FFS talk about looking for something...dumb by the Irish guy in the current climate but gee there was nothing in it.

    Neither was a penalty

Some big moves have happened and you have to give credit to the TWM
The big movers are Laulala, Savea, Mounga, ALB and Barrett in his best position at fullback

Thought it a brave call to pick an under-played Jack Goodhue for a crunch game - worked real well

not to forget BBBR who was outstanding after bugger all footy in the last two months

@Luigi, there's a blast from the past. Welcome back. Been lurking?

I'll disagree with you, although I don't fully agree with @Blackheart. But Nige made some strange calls.

    at a guess below 1?

Surely in order to "stay" you need to have started there in the first place? I don't think that he ever was there.

I have a feeling we have only just cracked that keg of powder.

Eddie may study videos all week, but next weekend will be a different game again (with even more intensity and commitment)

I don't know how some of you guys manage to comment during the game, you must be better typists than me (not saying much), I'd miss half the action if I tried.

It's also pretty fun to wake up with a smile on my face, make a BLT and sit down with a coffee to scroll through the 1000+ posts here over brekkie.

    Happy days!

So far it just seems to be a masterclass from Hansen and his coaches, Despite my complaints about leaving J. Ioane at home and B Smith out of the 23, the selections have been outstanding so far. The balance of experience and youth has been perfect, even if it would have been easier to go the conservative route Hansen has been aggressive and it’s paid off. The young Crusaders in the backs have repaid Hansen’s faith enormously. Also amazing is tactically the ABs seem to be adjusting to the rush defenses and defensively they also seem to be going lower in the tackle. Was always confident ABs would win by more than a try but the possibility of a hiding was material and that’s what we got. Bring on England.

The definite shift in our tactics, to avoid traditional rucks wherever possible, has significantly sped up the game and negated a strength for many opposition teams. Ireland were faking injuries after about 25 minutes because they were totally gassed. So clearly we are as fit or fitter than everyone else too

@canefan also they used the off load just prior to contact alot more than normal too, just got that extra metre or so but bent the line forcing Ireland to adjust again and again.

ABs have stepped up a gear, adapted to the rush defence they had struggled with since 2017, England will now need to look at thier game and look at where to exploit the ABs.

Lamour probably the only Irish backline threat and he wasnt there form the start.

@canefan yeah, even when abs win they change. When they lose, badly (Ireland and lions series, plus some crap Vs Oz and boks, close to England), the change is even bigger and better. Evolve or get wasted. And man have the ABs evolved, just amazing coaching.

Ireland got a winning formula and kept it. For two years, far too long at international rugby level.

    …and this from Niall Quinn
“Ireland have a plan to expose the offside ABs all day. NZ have never scored a try against our defence coach Andy Farrell. NZ will give away over 20 points as referee Nigel lays down the laws. Irish players grow an extra arm and leg against the ABs especially as underdogs. Ye dream about the world cup final whilst Ireland win this quarter final. This is Irish rugby history made by a team who know what it feels like to defeat the mighty ABs. Only once before have NZ got dumped out in the quarters. By an underated northern hemisphere side. The best of luck to each team but NZ will be held tryless by Ireland again and Ireland will be in the semi finals.”

Are we going to see some pie eaten and apologies/mea culpa published? Like fuck, not checked but there will be ' ABs were great but Nige let them do it' articles everywhere in Ireland.
