Russia coach Lyn Jones has made nine changes to his starting line-up for the Bears' final Pool A match against Scotland in Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa on Wednesday, 9 October. Prop Kirill Gotovtsev, flanker Tagir Gadzhiev, wing German Davydov and full-back and captain Vasily Artemyev will make their fourth starts of Rugby World Cup 2019, while half-backs Dmitry Perov and Ramil Gaisin are retained from the 35-0 defeat by Ireland. The inclusion of Artemyev ... means he will have started all eight of Russia's Rugby World Cup matches since their RWC debut in New Zealand. He will lead his country for a record 34th time in Shizuoka, and his 29 test tries are a record for the Bears. Centre Vladimir Ostroushko will also be making his eighth RWC appearance as he returns to the starting XV after coming off the bench in the final quarter against Ireland. Second row Andrey Garbuzov would join Artemyev and Ostroushko in the eight-cap club if he comes off the bench on Wednesday.

Full-back Blair Kinghorn [below], centre Pete Horne, lock Ben Toolis and hooker George Turner get their first chance to make a mark on this year’s tournament from kick-off, with recent squad addition Henry Pyrgos handed the opportunity to do likewise from the bench. Wing Tommy Seymour and back-row John Barclay complete the starting side, coming in from outside the match-day 23 that faced the Pacific Islanders.
