@KiwiMurph I'll admit that I've had this expectation before and it didn't happen, but I think the Tahs will be one of the stronger teams in the competition this year. Definitely a candidate for the play-offs.

@Tim Tahs are going to be a fascinating watch this year - new coaches bringing in a completely new style - some sneaky good recruits and a handful of Aus U20s stars.
You mean...it's their year?

@Stargazer geo-coded?
-
@Stargazer bugger, doesn't seem to like me coming in from UK - just get "There was an error playing this video". Now I have to do work instead....
-
Looks like there are some quickly uploaded highlights for each score on Tahs Twitter (not sure if geocoded)
-
This ref has no feel for the nature of the game. Second yellow in a preseason game; this time Tomkinson for coming in from the side.
-
Pretty messy half, highlanders up 14-7 with 2 x YC, scrums were messy AF...pre-season joy.
2nd stream good quality on phone.
-
@Stargazer yep - might just be a Bones issue, nevermind.
-
Angus Bell for the Tahs is going pretty well. Good runner of the ball and seems to be pretty busy.

@KiwiMurph LOL you gotta love the enthusiasm of Waratahs supporters (esp their press), one OK pre-season 'game' and they're world beaters.
(hyperbole of this post added to align with Tahs fans)

The Tahs have a good test first up - Crusaders in Nelson.

According to the Sky tv guide, the preseason game between the Crusaders and Hurricanes this afternoon will be LIVE on Sky Sport 1 (from 3.45pm)!

@Stargazer After reading your discovery I searched forward to next Friday on Sky hoping the Blues v Canes game might be televised. Instead I found that the Highlanders v Crusaders is live 6pm next Friday. Two lots of preseason intel on The Crusaders delivered to the door for the other teams!

The Jaguares are destroying Georgia XV (without its first stringers) at the moment. Just discovered the livestream: https://www.espn.com.ar/rugby/nota/_/id/6518325/si-estas-afuera-de-latinoamerica-mira-aca-el-streaming-de-jaguares-georgia-xv?
Edited to add that the Jaguares' outfit is worth a deduction of at least 100 points. Awful.

Injuries from yesterday's preseason game:
The Crusaders lost openside flanker Billy Harmon to a minor knee knock in the first half, while halfback Mitchell Drummond was taken off early in the second half as a precaution after a head knock. Hurricanes wing Jonah Lowe left the field with a left shoulder issue, the same injury he suffered last season, which worried coach Jason Holland. "I'm really hoping that's not as bad as it looks because Jonah is coming back from a shoulder injury and he's worked really hard this pre-season and is in great nick. "I'm a little bit worried about him, but we'll see how he comes up."

Wow, there were 18,720 people at the Jaguares v Georgia XV game. Big crowd for a warm-up game. Yes, it was against a national team, but that team didn't include any regular test players. It will be interesting to see how many people will turn up for the second preseason game against Georgia XV in Buenos Aires.

Preseason is totally meaningless. My false hopes with the Blues going through unbeaten or going really well preseason, turning to custard ... year after bloody year.
THIS IS PROBABLY NOT OUR YEAR!!!!

Sanzaar also announced it had cut its team of referees for the 2020 season from 15 to 12, with Kiwis Glen Jackson (retired), Nick Briant and South African Egon Seconds gone from the team.
-
As is Rasta.

@Stargazer said in Super Rugby 2020:
cutting Egon Seconds from the team is SANZAAR's best decision ever
Even an organisation as poorly run as SANZAAR could see he was a cheat.
-
@Stargazer regardless of these being pre season games, there’s some very well constructed tries especially in the first game..hard to believe we are watching South African teams compared to what they dished up only a few years ago..ball handling at times was superb..!
