@machpants The mascot's name is Wally.
I reckon Wally might see the biggest 7s score of the Olympics so far

The Aussie women are destroying Japan. Stronger, faster, generally having better skills.
HT: Australia 24 - 0 Japan
Thing is we're not getting a lot of contest at ruck time, which won't help when we're up against better teams later on.
-
Where was the clear release? It won't make a difference to the outcome, but the refereeing is of the same shit standard we saw in the men's comp.

At that previous ruck?

Another error - she can't be "holding" if she releases then gets back to her feet.
At least Amy Perrett might be able to rescue this shemozzle

Yeah, the one prior to the try. Looked like a ball and all tackle. At least the tackler stayed on her feet, but I didn't see a release.

There is a lot of calls against the attacking team at ruck time I've noticed - ruck formed particularly. I know 7s is a bit sharper on defenders jackaling but really, once a ruck is formed it should be hands off.

The Russians are first on the board. GB may struggle against this side. 5 - 0 ROC
Don't think so, just getting into rhythm
