Where was the clear release? It won't make a difference to the outcome, but the refereeing is of the same shit standard we saw in the men's comp.
At that previous ruck?
Yeah, the one prior to the try. Looked like a ball and all tackle. At least the tackler stayed on her feet, but I didn't see a release.

There is a lot of calls against the attacking team at ruck time I've noticed - ruck formed particularly. I know 7s is a bit sharper on defenders jackaling but really, once a ruck is formed it should be hands off.

The Russians are first on the board. GB may struggle against this side. 5 - 0 ROC
Don't think so, just getting into rhythm

Yep - amazing how bad/good a team looks with/out the ball

TJ still no idea of the rules, there. Ref was right
Ah finally gets it.
The GB ladies doing heaps of stutter steps, not one has achieved anything

Great try there for cheating Russians
Was a good run but the GB sweeper was not positioned very well out on the left edge

@machpants Yeah, great individual effort from the no. 7 Seredina. Not sure these women have cheated though.
Yeah, probably correct but a ban should be a ban, not a slight name change, imo.
But great try there for GB, winning 14-12. Lotsa errors

they flat out shouldn't be there. Just because they play rugby doesn't mean they are suddenly less likely to be in on it. The entire Group are suspect as fuck. Sorry girls, guilty by association.

@mariner4life I couldn't disagree more. Only players from the sport in which athletes/players have cheated should be affected, not those in an entirely different sport/discipline.

do you remember why they are banned?
-
@stargazer except the cheating was done at government level, using KGB (whatever they're called now) to swap samples on break in, etc. We only know there ones we caught, it was totally endemic, maybe if you compete for Russia but have lived, competed, and tested overseas for ages, maybe. Otherwise, Russia want took enhance their country by cheating, their country should pay the cost.
