Glen Osbourne has the best tournament performance of any all black fullback
You're obviously too young to remember Gallagher.
The way he used to pop into the backline out of nowhere, especially the combination he had with John Schuster, was magical

Nope. But for mine, Osbourne is the player of the tournament in 95 if it isn't for the giant Tongan on the wing
-
Ozzy in 95 was awesome. My choice for fullback.
What about halfback? Weepu 2011 one of the memorable performances kicking for us, but not the greatest tournament overall. Meg had a great tournament in 03 I thought. Smith’s quick ball in 2015 really helped us dominate the Aussies in the final. But it is still between Kirk (87) and Bachop (95) for me. Bachop gets the nod.
-
Bachop was excellent in 95.
But given the NZ Cavalier scenario that had to be overcome leading into that RWC I think it's hard to look past Captain Kirk. -
15 - went with Osborne. He was underplayed too in 1999, despite being in fine form.

Who will you select as your right wing? The finalists are:
John Kirwan (1987, 1991)
One of the defining moments of the inaugural 1987 World Cup was John Kirwan’s brilliant solo try against Italy. Getting the ball near his own goal-line, Kirwan sliced, weaved and dodged his way through countless Italian defenders on his way to one of the most revered tries in rugby history. Kirwan went onto start in the 14 jersey in every All Blacks match of the 1987 World Cup and scored a try in the final victory over France. Kirwan returned for the 1991 tournament but couldn’t replicate his form from 1987. He finished with seven tries from 11 World Cup appearances.Nehe Milner-Skudder (2015)
Virtually unknown before the 2015 Rugby World Cup, hot-stepping wing Nehe Milner-Skudder was the breakout star of the tournament with six tries from six matches. Blessed with impressive speed off the mark, immense upper body strength, and an elusive side-step, Milner-Skudder formed an unstoppable combination with Julian Savea on the other wing. Milner-Skudder capped off a fine tournament by scoring the first try of the final and setting the tone for the All Blacks 34-17 win over Australia.Cory Jane (2011)
Cory Jane played in six of the All Blacks seven matches at the 2011 tournament as they broke a 24-year drought to win their first title since 1987. Although he only crossed for one try at the tournament, Jane was a key player for the All Blacks and played the full 80 minutes in the three knockout games. Masterful under the highball, dangerous on attack and rock-solid on defence, Jane was a key cog in the All Blacks line-up.Jeff Wilson (1995, 1999)
While Jonah Lomu made his indelible mark on the 1995 tournament, Jeff Wilson was just as effective for the All Blacks on the right wing. The blonde-haired speedster was electric out wide and made the chip-and-chase tactic his own. Wilson was visibly ill throughout the final against South Africa but played on bravely until being replaced my Marc Ellis in the 15-12 loss. Wilson returned for the 1999 tournament as a fullback and ended with nine tries from 11 World Cup appearances. -

Ok does this list have all the options?

I can't believe any posters are suggesting anyone other than Kirwan on the right wing. No right wing dominated a RWC as much as Kirwan did in 87. To me it's not even a competition, it's Kirwan and then daylight.

Kirwan actually had a pretty decent tournament in a dysfunctional team. He was bloody good in the semi loss to the Wallabies. So no he wasn't as dominant as in 1987 but that was down to team dynamics not his personal performances.

@Duluth farken hell, I never remembered that but do you mean to tell me Cully never played a RWC game at 15? No wonder people spat at John Hart's horse!
Began in 96, played centre in 99, lame by 2003
The brightest flame burns quickest

I wonder if this sort of heresy to Cullen fanboys still gets the spittle flecked outrage at cue ball ?
