Suns beat Sixers (albeit sans Embiid, but we also didn't have Ayton) to go 5-2 and second in the West. Simmons was poor and not even the best Australian on the court.
I'm waiting for the crash, like a 1-7 stretch.
They have a good coach and a core that is building.

After following the NBA since 1999, and spending large parts of my teenage years obsessively playing the EA Sports game, I'm finally ticking off a major bucket list item by actually going to see a game.
Am in New York for a 2-day work trip this week, and seeing the Mavs play the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Amazing historic venue, and will be Porzingis' first game back since being traded so should have some spice. Can't wait to see what a 7'3" human looks like in the flesh (we'll have seats pretty close to courtside) and, of course, watch future superstar Luka play live.
On the Knicks side, they're not as fun to watch as Brooklyn, but seeing RJ Barrett go as potential ROY will be good, and Marcus Morris / Julius Randle at least have some name recognition.
Am so excited.

@TeWaio you'll have fun. I saw a similar matchup a few days ago Bulls v Rockets in Chicago. It was a bloody good crowd (near sellout) considering the Bulls are fairly terrible team this year. I understand MSG always sells out - especially for the cross town game.
There'll be a heap going on around the stadium and during the game even if the score blows out (which it did for Bulls Rockets). Some of it is fairly cheesy very American but plenty to keep you entertained.
Enjoy!

Nice to see Markelle Fultz playing well after a shaky start to his NBA career

The Spurs are finally dead. A 22-year playoff run should come to an end this season. The team stinks.

i just read this, if it is true, it just highlights how absolutely fucked we are in the modern NBA
"Ben Simmons has made more 3 pointers this year than DeMar DeRozan"
it's true! holy shit

@mariner4life for all his brilliance as a coach, Pop has to take a lot of responsibility for this. It is pretty arrogant to refuse to move with the times. I hate the modern NBA's obsession with 3's more than anyone, but you can't ignore it.
-
@mariner4life Simmons next 3pter is due in the 2021-22 season.

I really dislike Simmons. The Melbourne affair, the Boomers stuff. Seems like a tit to me
he's also massively over-hyped if you live in Aus

look, i am loath to say a bad word against the great man, but this is pretty true. I sort of expect this to be his last year.

@mariner4life did you ever watch the conversation between Pop, Manu, Parker and Duncan sitting at halfcourt? Such good insight into their dynamic and relationship.

I know there are plenty of LeBron haters out there, but I always wonder what his career would have looked like if he had a great coach early. Look at most of the top guys of all time and who they had:
- MJ = Phil
- Magic/Kareem = Riley
- Russell - Red
- Kobe/Shaq = Phil
- TD = Pop
- Bird = had a few, but had Red on the staff as an exec
Aside from Spo, and that was late, Lebron never had anyone with gravitas.
