@Kirwan You love twisting my words. Why don't you focus on someone else on the Fern for change?
How about stop telling people how to spend their time because they criticise your favourite players?
Just saying "he was shit" isn't criticism, it's just shitposting.
Shit chips to nowhere seem to be gameplan that's why ALB and Rangitoto Beauden were doing them too. RM took the ball to the line well, found his support, and set plays as well as he could have with his halfback being monstered and little support from his pack.
Interested to see if you have any other examples of him being "shit".
you know what, i half agree with you. RM was not the reason we lost that. BUT
He is the 10. He is supposed to be in charge of our team. And i no way would the coaches have him in such a tight leash he can only do one thing. He was poor today, really poor. Not all his fault, but he didn't help himself.

What's wrong with Reece at 14?
Terrible defence at SR and NPC level. Caught out of position against Argentina.

Well if that all I was saying you’d be right, but thanks for the strawman.
It’s a failed experiment. The dual playmaker thing didn’t work with McKenzie either.
For all his faults BB is the best ten in the squad, it’s why we looked better in patches when he came up from fullback. When RM is at first receiver, the backline looks terrible.
-
If the BB/RM combo isn't working (for whatever reason) 2-3 games out from RWC2019, it's too late to continue with it.
That's no reflection on the players - it's just common sense.
-
@mariner4life not for today. For Tokyo. For Barrett's inevitable example setting 6 weeks and because he's playing again and we're fucken pansies at the moment.
The best of a green bunch for 50 minutes -
@KiwiMurph I was listening to the Radiosport commentary, and if I'd downed a shot each time they said BFA 'danced' I would be very drunk right now.
We don't need a dancer. We need a stepper, a speedster.
-
@Duluth Yeah, pretty much what you just said. It's the defensive side that I'm more concerned with especially in the knockout stages which is why I lean towards Barrett on the right wing ahead of the others.
-
@Victor-Meldrew I'd say it's too soon to stop. They've only played this combo twice.
I also think our backline would work better with Crotty in it.

And Hall at halfback?

you are fucking shameless!!!! of course you do! Crotty would have done so much with that shit we were shovelling along the line.
fuck mate.

And David Havili at 15 right
-
@Victor-Meldrew when was the last time we had the same centre pairing start consecutive matches?

Aussie centre pairing seemed to go just fine first game together.

Jeez the bitchiness is out in force in this thread. The ABs get spanked and the Fern eats itself.
-
@Tim said in Bledisloe #1:
A couple of things to put this into perspective:
-
@taniwharugby I feel extremely sorry for ALB. Every bloody week he has different guys around him.
-
@KiwiMurph not what I was getting at though...plus I don't care about Aussie
-
Our pack needs a rethink with basically no games left between us and the world cup. that is not an ideal proposition.

Been a few people worried about the direction we’ve been going for a while now. This is a nadir moment though.
47 points!
-
@Kirwan Hahaha the only non Crusaders players he'd have in the side are Jonah Lowe on one wing, Gareth Evans at 6 and maybe Danny Toala or whatever his name is covering the bench.
-
Scott Barrett will most likely be banned for about 3 - 4 weeks if they go for the mid-range entry point (= 6 weeks). Possibly 50% reduction because of clean sheet, early remorse blah blah blah.

Yes, but he calls me biased.

That's the problem. So we keep trying to make it work right into the pool stages of RWC2019? Doesn't make sense...
I also think our backline would work better with Crotty in it.
I like Crotty, I really do. I like him even more when he lasts 30 minutes without being injured.

@NTA still playing ol boy? Gutsy man, gutsy. 😁👍
Equally: stupid.
Mrs TA being away for the weekend with her friends, I decided to set up the swag in the backyard, and I'm here right now, wondering whether this is better for recovery than our King bed with squishy mattress.
-
@mariner4life The entire pack was a fail today. Which is really, really unsettling so close to the WC.
-
I scott barrett was banned until the end of the world cup would anyone care?
-
Well done Australia, looked great.
That was awful and next week is a must win.
I doubt 3-peat RWC, but with the right team we can still beat anyone.
Calling Jamie Joseph for 2020.
At the moment I'd start withBen Smith
Ennor
Crotty
SBW
Rieko
BB
Aaron Smith
Read
Cane
Frizelland a more dynamic tight 5.

@Stargazer which means he won't be available for SA in the RWC, heat on BBBR shoulder
-
Anybody got links for the press conferences, need a laugh
-
@African-Monkey That's a ridiculous statement and you know it.

Mokey, i've been saying it for a year, but they are really just a bunch of okay footballers withour Rettalic and peak Read. This is no "keeping the powder dry" this is "not good enough"

Speaks volumes for the bloke he keeps giving his all despite being buggered about all the time.
-
@taniwharugby That depends if they can claim he was likely to play for Taranaki in the non-test weeks. He hadn't played since the Super Rugby quarter final on 21 June after all, so maybe they can use the same reasoning as they used for SBW when he got that red card during the lions series.
-
Who'd you have replacing the injured Crotty and/or SBW after the usual 10-15 minutes of play?
-

no one cares. Seriously. Scott Barrett is average. Not awful, but average. If we need him at the World Cup, we are boned.
And that's it. If we are forced to start him, the campaign is already over.
-
Also, a very belated congratulations to Oz. You were all over us tonight. White had a blinder, and your forwards fronted up big time.
