@MN5 I refer you to my previous point
But were his team that shit ?
Actually any era where Mitchell Marsh gets capped as often as he has answers this emphatically.

@Donsteppa @KiwiPie I can't believe the tripe they were serving up. Pattinson around the wicket at Broad's ribs and head. How fucking hard is it to lay down a bit of intimidation and/or injure the prick?
Break his arm perhaps?

@Catogrande Just saw the highlights and Yes, Smith should have been checked out after that wobble.
Surely Moeen can't last much longer in the team? He's picked as a spinner for his batting and he can't make runs, then England need to pick their best spinner. Still a tough game to call. England should have got a big lead by bowling Aus out for under 200 or getting 450 but haven't quite been good enough.
Weird also that the bails have to fall off for you to be bowled when originally the bails were added to make it easier to tell when someone had been bowled. The ultraedge shows the slightest snick on the bat and went crazy when Root's stump was hit yet it's not out. Strange game cricket .....
I think Moeen is surviving on his highlights reel from a couple of years ago, no rational reason for his selection really.

How good is that from Steve Smith? The ultimate way to return to Tests.
This is actually 25 now, but still...
-
Oz 240-ish ahead.
Geoff Boycott's waspish comment on Smith's dismissal.
That's the best thing that could have happened to Australia. Otherwise they would have batted all day and only given themselves a day to bowl England out
-
What an awful day. Sitting inside with a farting dog watching Smith bat England out of the game. Looking forward to work tomorrow.
-
Either the wicket is a batsmen's dream or England were clueless in the last 20-30 overs of the Oz innings.

Bugger me days he really is some player isn't he ?
-
No matter the result, a test with 144 and 142 is a phenomenal effort. Especially with the build up and then the context of the test when he came in the 2nd innings.

The bit I liked the most was when he just started flogging Stokes all over the shop, and didn't even bother running once he knew he'd middled it. Just whack the fucking thing, then turn and walk off to the side in his own weird fashion, before facing up to the next one.
I reckon Lyon could make the Pommy openers his bunnies this series. Certainly Roy and Burns aren't going to enjoy facing him tonight.
