Oh well England will have to do, had hoped for a shot at redemption vs the Aussies.
Meanwhile the Aussie press conference after the loss to England....
There he is! Welcome back, angry man.
Bet you had those ready to go the minute you woke up 😉
Unfortunately (for you) the Aussie press conference probably looked like Finch being perfectly reasonable and forthright

Nick you know me too well!
On the bright side least your not subjected to the horrible 3rd/4th play off..

That's such a punchable head.
Meanwhile in the twitter universe, Australian ex-cricketers are appearing magnanimous and sporting in comparison to some of their English counterparts.

As someone who watches way less cricket than rugby...have we got a realistic chance? Watching the highlights, England looked like they totally destroyed Australia.
Came here to ask the same thing. Was surpised to see how easily England crushed Australia, they looked really good.

I felt like Aussie were as much to blame for the lopsided result as the English. The English opening bowlers were great, but there was a significant drop off in quality after that and the aussie bats were unable to make hay. India looked super strong before the SF too and look how that turned out

You are officially banned from watching.
Well we should all be sending @booboo to bed now. We can't risk leaving it too late.

Realistically, on current form, England probably win three times out of four.
I don't think we can afford to let them set their own tempo - so my prescription for victory is to win the toss and bat. Then we need our openers - and particularly Gup, Gup, Guppy - to finally come to the party.
If, by chance, Nicholls is injured enough that he can't play, I think we should push Latham up to open and bring Blundell in to keep and bat six. Woakes has Munro's number, so it's mainly wishful thinking and rolling the dice way too far to think both Guppy and Munro will suddenly come good.
Post 280+ and grab a couple of early wickets and let the pressure carry England into oblivion!

Right. Annual leave booked for Monday morning. Coffee supplies stocked up for Sunday night. Preparations well underway.
GO THE BLACK CAPS!
PJ's, hot chocolate and melatonin all on the way to @booboo as well. We'll walk this one (well I don't think we will, but looking forward to it).
Do we have any injuries? Ferg seemed fine in the semi and we will need him.

Leave signed off, now to try and get some zzz's in the bank ahead of a massive Sunday night. Cannot wait.
Really like your call @Chris-B if Nicholls is injured. Have seen F-all about why Southee was fielding the whole time? do we actually know what the deal is?

Nicholls was also down getting worked out around his hamstring during the first drinks break during our innings.

Kind of weird here in australia,
The whole country is saying, Go kiwis ,
it has more to do with how much they hate the poms than anything else , but still, they are right behind us which seems strange

We should update the thread title to include 'Black Caps vs England' just because when I first started making the threads for our pools games I didn't think 'Black Caps' would make it beyond that.
Jesus I can't wait for Sunday. And unlike @Siam I am going to be riding on every single fucking ball and every single fucking run. It's going to be stressful as hell but I am so up for this.
-
@No-Quarter you glutton for punishment 😁
I've been battered to submission too many times, now I'm the old submissive fishwife, " as long as they have fun, get home for dinner and don't hurt anyone" being my mantra.
Must admit to enjoying this valium like state shuffling around humming "Que sera sera..."
