CWC Final - Black Caps v England

Not sure of my feelings about this game.
I really don't expect us to win and am therefore really relaxed about the outcome.
Weirdly in 2015 I didn't expect us to win, gut feel on the relative level of expectation/favouritism is about the same as now, but was as nervous a kitten.
Hoping the different feeling is an indicator of a different result.

@booboo hopefully the boys feel the same way and play with fluidity. The longer we can keep the game tight the more the pressure will be on the home side, who have been all but annointed as champions already
Yeah, most important thing for us is to stay in the game as long as possible. I.E. if we bat first, dig in and make sure we have wickets in hand to push for a defendable total.
The stats indicate that our bowling lineup is ranked number one in the tournament thus far (which is incredible), so our preference has to be to bat first and then let our bowlers do the job when the pressure comes on.
BRING IT ON!

@No-Quarter I agree with batting first for once. Get a solid total up then squeeze the English. As much as they don't want to admit it the final isn't like any other game

I would rather bowl first, try to grab early wickets and see if the English collapse under pressure. Either way, just like against India our bowling unit has to slice through the top order for us to win.

The thing about our SF bowling display is that we bowled in the morning. Unusual for the side bowling second

England did just that in the SF too.... I think you are right, and it is what I wanted to do in 2015. I'm very conflicted 🤔

Have we had any predictions from tigers or lions or just any animals in general whenever there’s a World Cup final..?

Anybody happen to know a pub in Beijing that might be showing this?
BTW - will update the de-facto motorcycle thread at some point, when hangover wears off, but got into Beijing yesterday... 15,500 miles later - no offs. I hesitate to use the word "hero", but... feelin' like a fuckin' hero. -
@Tim Ah - cheers... but don't have WeChat - was meaning to get it, but I believe I need a local to "invite me" before I can install it?
Might just find a local pub, and cricinfo it. Unless/until it gets exciting, in which case I'll find some oleole-dot-tv type streams. -
My head says England will win the World Cup..but heart wants NZ, common sense says England skipper Eion Morgan will lift the World Cup..
