@Tim and blues. Surely it’s between the crusaders and canes. His midfield combo with goodhue at Lincoln was pretty impressive
What would that mean for Ennor?
-
@antipodean Competing with Jordan for the 23 jersey?

I'd imagine he'd still be covering 13, as well as making a few wing appearances. Plus as SG says, 23.

I appreciate it's the Crusaders, but would he be happy with a bench role?

He was a lot more than a bench role this season, certainly racked up the minutes and even earned himself an AB call up. Not sure why that would change?

I think the presumption is his chances would require the rest or injury to others. Even as an All Black, not sure I'd want that.

To be honest I'd back him to make a better fist of 12 than Jordie...
I seriously doubt he'll be lacking game time, he didn't exactly lack this year before he was a proven performer....
-
@Bones Yeah, there will be injuries and ABs rest breaks. Apart from those, only a few Crusaders' backs weren't rotated during the season : Mo'unga, Bridge, Goodhue and Havili. So there will be plenty of game time for the other players.
Besides, if Jordie comes to the Crusaders, he'll be less certain of a start every week than Crotty. Crotty was a lock-in if fit; Jordie still has to earn that jersey.

@Bones I don't think Ennor plays 12. He's a centre/wing.
I didn't say he did.

@Bones Oh, I must have misunderstoond.
This: "To be honest I'd back him to make a better fist of 12 than Jordie..." wasn't about Ennor?
Yes it was.

I'll love it if if goes to the Crusaders. My MIL is a dyed in wool Cantab (as in Matt Todd should've been picked ahead of Kaino in 2011) and she hates Jordie. It'll be hilarious to watch her do a complete 180 on this and now become his biggest fluffer.
He's been a bit average for the Canes the last two seasons. Hopefully he can find some form of he heads south.
Bro, sounds like you married well

With Crotty gone, I wonder if there will be so many injury opportunities in the Saders midfield....
Goodhue is a much better 13 than 12, so 12 is an opportunity, but there are a few very talented players who won’t even make the 23 if Jordie goes there. I think it’s a risk for players like Ennor and Jordan (especially).
-
@gt12 Crotty has actually missed very few games (he played 15 games this season). He has been taken off early a few times, but mostly that was precautionary, until he broke his thumb.
IMO, the Crusaders don't need Jordie. Havili and Goodhue can both play at 12, and in the few "easy" games, they can give game time to Punivai at 12. I prefer Havili at 15 and Goodhue at 13 though.
-
@Stargazer I agree recruiting Jordie is not as important as a couple of decent Loose Forwards and a TH.They to me are more important plenty of 2nd Five cover as you have mentioned. Then there is the option of a McLeod type younger player for long term development

Only big reason for Jordie to shift is if he has his heart set on playing second-five and knows he won't get much of a shot with Laumape having that spot locked up.
It's pointless for the Crusaders to sign him as a fullback with Havili and Jordan (and Bridge) already on the books.
-
Whatever happens i hope Goodhue stays at 13. The ABs need him to stay there long term.
Not too fussed who Jordie ends up playing for, but if moving to the Crusaders and playing 12 gets him in his “best” position and he improves as a player that is good for NZ rugby.
