@Yeetyaah And then he leaves again without playing because of an injury?

Slade McDowall as a backup to Kirifi. Hugh Blake is another option (assuming they want a no.7).

Jeez not looking that flash next season, now the positive gives Kirifi a chance to shine. I was kinda hoping they’d have a loose forward trio of Savea Kirifi and Evans.

@mikey07 we can swap you Tony Lamborn for Murphy Taramai and that will give a player can play at 7 at a drop

@Steven-Harris Taramai is out for several months with a broken ankle.

Evans can play at 7, too. Maybe Flanders could get some early game time at 8.

@Steven-Harris Nah we had him a few seasons ago so we’ve had our turn with him.

@Jonty-lean Only for Ardie, I think. Taramai will not miss too many games and isn't a starter anyway. Probably enough players (either on development contracts or not) training with the Canes during preseason. Would be great to know who they are!

@Stargazer recognize anyone from the below yo yo test? Is far right Brayden Mitchell?, third in Jono Hickey? 6th in Trent Renata? Not too sure who that is fourth in...

@Canes4life I've always trouble recognising players (other than Magpies and regular starters) without seeing their faces, but the fourth looks like Jamie Booth.

there's a turn around and bend over joke here, but I'm not going to make it.

    Really.

@nzzp I probably wouldn't understand the "joke" anyway ( 😉 ), but I meant "not recognising" from one still image like the one above.

Article in RugbyPass - I think herald picks them up in a few days. Raises some interesting points, like WTF have they picked up random no-name SA midfielder for. That is NOT a 2m+lock FFS!

Ardie Savea's injury may be a major hurdle, but there's one player that will be far more difficult for the Hurricanes to replace

Ardie Savea's injury may be a major hurdle, but there's one player that will be far more difficult for the Hurricanes to replace

Despite the fact that Matt Proctor has been an underrated player over the last few years and Ardie Savea’s absence is coming at short notice, it’s the loss of playmaker Beauden Barrett that will be felt hardest by the Hurricanes in 2020.

"There’s a reason why middle-of-the-road 10s have flourished at the Highlanders, and it’s partially because Aaron Smith is capable of serving up ball on a platter, courtesy of the side’s industrious forwards."

    Sopoanga - burn!

Our Super Rugby Teams of the Decade series moves into the Kiwi capital as we outline a XV of the best Hurricanes players to have donned the yellow and black jersey since 2010.

Mmmm Laumape not Nonu, and Jordie in there? Does show, apart from hooker, canes tight five has sucked for ten years

I'd definitely put Nonu in there instead of Laumape; and Andre Taylor instead of Jordie Barrett.
