Hurricanes 2020

@Canes4life he’s been playing 12 for Toulon the last 2 seasons
-
@mikey07 The Hurricanes already have an All Black 2nd five on their books plus another more than competent 2nd five in Danny Toala has already played a couple of impressive games for them toward the end of last season. Can't see why they would import another when the position is already adequately covered.
-
@mikey07 Ah yes Plumtree and who can forget his 7 foot tall lock verbal epistle. The Bus is taller than Ardie and Ardie is at least 6 foot ten so maybe The Bus is will turn out to be this much flaunted lock Plumtree (who continues to persevere with a six foot three lock in James Blackwell) keeps tantilising us about.

@mikey07 The last time I recall seeing him play it would be touch and go as to who would take the chequered flag if The Bus and Ben Tameafuna when head to head over 100 metres!
How can someone lose speed that dramatically? If you’re carrying way more weight then you’d think that lose the weight equals return of speed.
-
@Crucial Not in my case though, age has taken what little speed I might have once had. Still I do have reasonable acceleration when someone announces the next ten customers get their next beer for free and I'm not too shabby covering the distance from my regular bar leaner to the buffet table, particularly when desert is served!

@Crucial seems to be a thing with Kiwi wings look at them once they hit 27 they seem to lose their pace
It is amazing how significant 27 years of age is. The ones that experience the most drop off are those that rely predominantly on their pace

I think the bigger boys lose pace faster than the leaner ones. Cory Jane didn't lose much pace until in his thirties. With the leaner guys, it seems to be injuries that slow them down. NMS is the prime example. Dagg and BFA only lost some pace, but not that dramatically.

These two were pretty slow to begin with (relatively)so didn't have much pace to lose.
Ben Lam seems to have bucked the trend of the power wings, his pace hasn't seemed to have dropped off since his mid 20s.

This. Corey's best attributes were his vision and link play, and he had a killer fend

No surprise.
Blockbusting wing Julian Savea is not returning to Wellington to play for the Hurricanes next season. Former Hurricanes outside back Cory Jane, who is renowned for being a joker, got the hopes of some fans up on Saturday.
Hurricanes chief executive Avan Lee has confirmed to Stuff there was no truth to Jane's tweet, calling the Wellington assistant coach a "comedian".
