Does anyone know the status of Nankivell's contract? How long he's signed for the Chiefs for?
dude just tag @Stargazer he's the fountain of such knowledge
-
@Bovidae I agree but the Chiefs have a stacked midfield and coz Alex is from CHCH I'm hoping the Poosaders don't make a play for him as their midfield stocks are low. A Nankivell/Goodhue midfield would be massive. But they're hellbent on using Goodhue at 12 so here's hoping they aren't that smart.

We do? ALB, Tupaea and ??? I don't want to see Wainui at centre and Leger is a 10/12 who has had minimal gametime. Sullivan hasn't even played for the Chiefs this season. You need depth to cover for injuries.
Do you think Thompson might be moving with your BOP rumour?

The Crusaders favour the Goodhue-Ennor combo, and Nankivell's chances of playing would be dependent on displacing Ennor and Goodhue moving back to centre.

@Bovidae well I mean we did with ALB, Nankivell and Manu but he's gone now. I'd be okay with Wainui moving to centre if he needed to. I couldn't stop raving about Tupaea in the previous 2 M10 cups but he hasn't done much in super just yet. Sullivan I've never been huge on but he never gets to play in super really.

Really? I think that he and ALB play well off each other, and now that's settled in to super Rugby, I'd really like to see what he can do in the midfield - our game breakers are all three quarters, so having Wainui on the wing doesn't help much.
-
@Yeetyaah I want to see (12) Tupaea - (13) Sullivan for Waikato this season. Sullivan seems to be used more as a winger but I remember how good they looked together in that game in Whangarei in 2018.
@gt12 I understand your point but Wainui doesn't even play regularly in the midfield for Taranaki. His distribution would need to improve. It is a possibility in the future with the young wingers.

@Yeetyaah I don't know about Waikato. He is playing club rugby.
Now that Sweeney has brought up his 100 games it is time to move on with the future.
This years NPC doesn't seem to be a look to the future NPC, it seems to be an all in NPC.

@Bones I don't think he should resign, he should be held accountable to a point but the Chiefs have a lot of injuries particularly in the forwards and the scrum has been suffering. Back line defence hasn't been great, it just looks like Cooper era but worse. Hopefully the get the wooden spoon and it causes the coaches to take a hard look at themselves. The problem there is that Gats isn't around next year. Idk asking for a coach to resign is a bit extreme.

@Bones tough headline. Of course some muppets on Twitter think he should resign.
HE's got a team to a decent level, but this is a really tough competition. IF they are playing SA and AUS sides, they aren't losing that many games in a row. A few bounces/refs calls and their season is 4-2 not 0-6. Blues are the same - we could be 2-4 easily (or even 5-1 or 6-0). That's rugby in this incredible competition.
