Season is looking like a write off. Only glimmer of hope is Cane possibly returning but I would rather he fully recovers than risk his health for a team that will struggle regardless.

I think there'd be some positives in the season regardless - the experience the young locks are getting, Boshier becoming a real contender, Tupaea playing beyond his years.

Of course the huge drop in form for ALB and Weber isn't great.

Is it just me or does Boshier seems a bit quiet compared to his pre-lockdown form?

@mofitzy_ haven't got that impression but I guess pre lockdown was 7 games in under well known law interpretations if that is the case.

Meh it's only 2 games in, I know it's a short comp but anything can happen. Doesn't look great though to be fair.

    Some guys have no luck.

Wow! If Cane doesn't play and he is definitely out we will lose by thousands this weekend

We might need some of those NRL cardboard cutouts for our forward pack...

The Gallagher Chiefs will bid farewell to versatile forward Tyler Ardron and midfielder Tumua Manu as they head offshore to France.

The twenty-nine-year-old Canadian forward has signed a two-year deal with French club Castres Olympique. Ardron has been a significant contributor to the Gallagher Chiefs squad since his debut in 2018. The versatile forward has been a consistent performer and an asset for the squad with his ability to play lock, flanker and number eight.

Ardron will conclude his time with the Gallagher Chiefs on Tuesday 30 June.

The powerful twenty-seven-year-old midfielder Manu will depart New Zealand at the completion of Super Rugby Aotearoa to join the French Top 14 club Section Paloise on a two-year contract.

Don't blame Gatland, here's the real reason the Chiefs are 0-4

Don't blame Gatland, here's the real reason the Chiefs are 0-4

Gatland’s not a clown. He might have a tight five that aren’t particularly dominant, but he remains one of the finest and most successful coaches this country has ever produced.

Some good points in this article, but Bidwell can’t be serious by calling SR Aotearoa exhibition matches?

Yes, there are only 5 teams, but it’s more of a competition than we’ve seen in the last 10 or so years with the likes of the Revels, Force, Sunwolves just there making up the numbers.

Hamish Bidwell calls it irrelevant.Tell that to the 42,000 at Eden ParkThey are hard fought close games and are a credit to the NZ franchises.Usually it’s the Blues copping it,because one team has to be last and we Blues don’t need his call of sorrow.

    Gatlands influence was less pronounced

I think it is more his lack of influence. I can't see one thing that he has brought to the franchise to be honest.
For a revered international coach you would think at bare minimum he would be able to get the players to take as many chances that come their way as possible.
If that was a focus we wouldn't see dumb shit like TTT taking a tap close to the line instead of another scrum against a team of 14 at a pivotal point in the game.
Gatland should be drilling that 'stop and think' stuff into their heads.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs the world's best lock has his feet up amidst injury crisis

Chiefs fans will be cursing these accursed sabbaticals while their team, 4-2 by mid-March, and still well in the mix to win its third Super Rugby crown.

Ardron left the franchise last week to take up a contract in France, despite having another year to run on his Chiefs’ deal.

    Ardron left early? Yikes.

@Yeetyaah Do Rugbypass have second jobs as Gatland publicists? This is basically another article defending him.
