@Dice that’s your opinion ,the super rugby coaches for the Highlanders obviously differ.
Or it is a case of no other options.

@Stargazer Caleb is going well, I thinks it’s only a matter of time before he picks up a contract..
-
@Steven-Harris I was hoping the Chiefs or Highlanders would have a spot for him for 2020.

Also appeals to authority go both ways.
'All Black fullback Leon MacDonald agrees with me that Collins shouldn't be a SR fullback'
It's meaningless
-
@KiwiMurph No he's certainly not. Poor under the high ball, too slow, average kicking game and his distribution was average at best as well. Having him at fullback ahead of Nanai was certainly not one of Umaga's smartest moves. He just wasn't Super Rugby level simple as that.
If he does well at the Highlanders good on him nothing against the guy at all but he was a disaster at the Blues.
-
@African-Monkey Aren't most players a disaster at the Blues?
-
@Duluth Exactly. He was one of the main reasons why we lost in round 1 against the Crusaders which was more than enough for MacDonald to show him the door and rightly so. Umaga would have had him starting every game if he was still in charge and probably offer him a 3 year deal for his communication skills.
-
@Canes4life Yeah good point. Collins however was very disasterous haha.
-
Classic, bunch of blues fans jump on a Highlanders thread to say how shit their new signing is. You guys are so rabid on this you almost sounf bitter. Moan about him when he plays for you, moan about him playing for someone else...
Why don't we see how he goes eh?
-
-
@Bones Really? Blues players and signings get criticised all the time on here which people are well within their rights to do yet 1 player you guys sign gets criticised and you have a big sulk about it. As I said earlier, if he does well, good on him, if not, then so what? He's probably only a depth signing anyway as I would assume that McKay/Hunt will be preferred ahead of him.

By non-Blues fans!
In Blues threads!!!
Which is fine...
-
@African-Monkey Mostly by Blues fans, though.

Haha! You're a sensitive wee soul eh! That was a big sulk? No wonder you get so upset at people daring to criticise a blues player.
Most of the highlanders fans seem OK with the signing, Blues fans (apart from @Tim ) have just come on to slag off Collins and/or Umaga.
Definitely there for depth, he'll do well though and will look more than comfortable at super level and get plenty of game time.
-
@Duluth Exactly. The amount of traffic Blues gameday threads get especially after we lose to let us know about it is a lot which there's nothing wrong with of course. It'nothing to sulk about though.
@Stargazer Yeah and? When you support a team that hasn't made the finals for 8 years, supporters of that team are going to criticise under performing players on a sports forum that's usually how it works.
@Bones And so are you
