What a thrilling game. I don't think I've ever actually seen Kane hit a six. That was ace!

The one to end the pool game against Australia 9 wickets down in the last CWC was fairly memorable!

AND NEW ZEALAND (SHOULD BE😉 IN THE WORLD CUP SEMI FINAL!

Ok so I need a slide rule and a log book to work out the permutations but ...

Of those outside the 4 we can't finish below Lankans or Ghans.

    Minimum 7th.

Of the other 4, Bangles, Windies, Pakis and Saffas they each could go past us if we get no more points and they will all their games.

They can't ALL go past us coz there are some games they play each other and take points from each other.

Need to get to work on the draw thingame to check out our possible futures. Where Dr Strange when you need him?

Thrilling win, and Kane Williamson deserves all the superlatives.

But our overall batting is still a weakness. It is reasonable to assume that scores of 240 will be needed to win further games in the tournament.

That was a slow dead wicket though They reckon 260 would have been a good score.

Only problem I have in the batting line-up is Munro. Rissole him for what's his name and we look quite good.

Superb from Kane especially when he was clearly battling with his right elbow after that ball from Rabada(?) got up on him a bit in the 3rd/4th to last over.

One of the commentators (Nicholas?) pointed out that the Black caps have been playing on low scoring pitches so far

Great win. Solid contributions from many. Kane amazing. Colin very very good in both innings, Locky and satnav bowled well - did their jobs

Once upon a time guppy was probably not out as the law used to stipulate while playing a shot, I think they changed that law.

Would have been a great game to watch all the way through.

    1. I feel confident in stating that SA is our CWC bitch.
    2. (I also have sympathy for Saffa fans, cos DAMN the Proteas have a unique ability to yank defeat from the jaws of victory.)
    3. KANE.
    4. On the whole our bowlers were great. Trent was out of sorts, but Santner, Henry and CDG were steady and Lachie bowled some pearlers. Was less impressed with the fielding. Two dropped catches and sloppy returns/missed runout chances were frustrating.
    5. KANE.

I caught the start and the end of it. Can't ask for much more from Kane - not a vintage innings but he got the job done under pressure on a tough surface. Really showed his class and is a huge weapon for us in run chases. Big credit to CdG as well, when he stays out there he doesn't get tied down, his RR took some pressure off Kane.

A little worried about Boult. The ball hasn't been swinging and he doesn't appear to be bowling as quick as he has recently. Hasn't been bowling badly but we need him in the wickets or I can see Aus, Eng and India scoring way too many.

But overall a dream start to the tournament. Everyone fit and finding form leading into the business end of the tournament.

Proteas are historical chokers. But fuck with an aging team who don't seem to have the right structure, on fairly tame decks, they look even worse

Just saw the highlights, fair to say both our openers fell to unlucky almost freakish dismissals. Munro played a couple of lovely shots too.

Yeah. I'm always to call for Munro's head, but up until his weird dismissal he had played with good technique and hit a couple of lovely looking orthodox boundary shots

I didn't think Munro was all that unlucky. It was a terrible shot and he got himself into a mess with body position. Something to do with poor technique or lead feet I think. He didn't even get to his usual 30 off 20 which is great in T20 but heaps pressure on the other guys who have to bat out the other 45 overs when he departs. Fortunately we have KANE.

I really want to see Nicholls given a go (he is ranked 45 as opposed to Colin's 63). I know rankings don't mean much but I would rather see someone at the crease for a bit longer than Munro for an ODI.
