CWC Game #2 Black Caps vs Bangladesh
-
Watching the first innings Kane's captaincy and bowling changes saved probably 20-30 runs IMO, just had really strong plans A, B and C to the Bangles top order and rotated the bowlers well for the most part (Neesham...) given the limited hand.
NZ played one and a quarter innings of good cricket then made a series of catastrophic errors while the Bangles played consistently good cricket with metronomic brain-farts every five overs or so, including the butchered run out and wides at the end. Lucky to get the W and the good news is the Bangles should tip over another quality side and take two points from them.

All of the above. I give every post on here the utmost thought and consideration

Fuck this I'm going back to bed
You may thank me later.
You tired b'stard. Wait for instructions on whether you're allowed to go to bed or not!
If we're batting you're obviously not!

Happy with the win, would rather have to fight for it than cruise to another easy victory.
As Mokey said above, I think the Bang Bros are a good chance to beat one of the favourites in Australia, England or India.
-
That is a good win against a banana skin team. Bank it and move on.

Watched the part from after the non run-out of Kane until his brain-fart. He and Taylor were doing it so easily, Kane looked like he was just going to bat through and let the person at the other end be aggressive. And then that shot ... at least when he did that a couple of times in the NZ summer he knew he had to keep the scoring rate going ... but why even hit in the air at that time. Play strokes along the ground, eventually you'll get one through.

I liked the win. It was an awkward total to chase because I think if we were chasing 300+ we would’ve known it was a good pitch and played a little more freer.
It seems quite a few teams have an issue with their fifth bowling option.

What happened with the non run out? The commentators kept mentioning it
The keeper tried to take the ball in front of the stumps and drag it back on (which is a fairly new technique for effecting run-outs), but knocked the bails off before he had the ball.
To make matters worse it wasn't even close so there was no need to take it in front of the stumps, and also the ball was going to hit the stumps anyway so he didn't need to catch it at all.

In other news Matt Henry now has 85 ODI wickets at 24, with a 5.4 RPO. Those are seriously impressive numbers.
Boult has 150 ODI wickets at 24 with a 5 RPO, so not too dissimilar.
-
@No-Quarter no matter how rocks and diamonds he goes his stats are super impressive. His county record is also pretty bloody good, which was another factor in them being so keen on him for the WC.

Big question for me is if Nicholls and Southee can force their way into the team for the big matches.
Munro with an unbeaten 50 and 24 has done pretty well.
So have the quicker bowlers all things considered.
