As much as it hurts to defend the pommy weather there are some off the mark comments here
For starters this weather is unusual. Looking like wettest June in record.
A few weeks back the weather was great.
I can honestly say I find it drier in London these days than Wellington.
But yeah, it’s really shit at the moment and I wish the good stuff would come back

100% agree with this, English weather generally has a massively unwarranted bad rep. Maybe its changed in the last generation due to climate change or whatever, but certainly away from the west of the country its pretty dry. Around London, and up near Cambridge where I live, it rains less than in NZ I reckon. The whole "shit UK weather" thing is like "shit UK food" - a stereotype about 30yrs out of date now.

That said, the weather this June has been about as consistently awful (and across the whole country) as I can remember in 15 years living here.

That is true. I had some great Pizzas, Curries, Kebabs, Chinese and paella’s in London.

I’m sure the mushy peas and fish and chips have gotten better too.

It's hardly our fault you buy shit food.

Like I said, the food I had was exemplary.

The fact none of it was "english" was an unfortunate ( or maybe fortunate ) coincidence.

    Racist.

    sometimes

@mofitzy_ fucking typical - overcast conditions for the pommy bowlers, then cleared up for their batting.

Nothing wrong with good old bangers and mash and an early morning visit to the local greasy spoon for a hangover curing breakfast

Malinga isn't bad but he is too slow now to be a massive threat.

Finch is in decent touch at the moment. I've been a critic of his in the past, but since he became Captain he seems to have largely worked his shit out

Great to see two Aussies run out within the space of a couple of overs. Still I suspect the 337 for 7 will probably be the best part of about 100 runs too many for Sri Lanka to chase down.

Decent win after a good start from Sri Lanka. Kind of bummed for their skipper going on 97 but glad we stopped him - he's the spine and most of the functioning organs for the Lanks

Aus played it right. Solid start to ensure they get 280+ (which is generally too many for the Lankans) and then have a go later in the innings. 320 was always too many.

As I said with the Black Caps win though, can't read too much into it. This is a very poor Sri Lankan side, they'll struggle to win another game from here.

Mohammad Amir has already been warned twice for running on the pitch. Oddly, it's mainly 3-4 steps after his delivery stride where he seemed to keep jogging down the middle of the pitch.

Rohit going gangbusters. Kohli can ease his way into this and then 400 is on the cards with a flourish in the last ten
