Grey as fuck and still spitting but definitely clearing.
I genuinely back this BC team to beat the Bangles even with this time lost...
At least with the toss delayed the follow on mark is reduced so if we can bat first and score decent runs we could have a chance. The Boult and Southee should have the ball hooping in these conditions.

Win the toss and both teams would have to have a bowl. New Zealand would do it so they can rip through Bangladesh, Bangladesh would do it to stop that happening.

Not a ball bowled in two days and the way some of you fellas are going on, we are somehow still a chance?
Tomorrow looks clearish, and surprisingly windy. Could be worth a bowl.

Isn't the Basin pitch a total road? There's no way there is a result assuming they get 3 full days of play. The best they can hope for is the batsmen get a chance to plump their stats
It flattens out, yeah. A bit of rain plus it does look a bit green so you never know.

In recent years I seem to recall it being juicy for a morning but if you survive into the afternoon batting conditions are perfect

What a load of rubbish. It’s how Wagner gets his wickets, so why would he stop?
I can’t imagine Kane ever saying ‘sorry Wags, you’ve got to keep the ball pitched up today, they don’t like the short stuff.’
They’re not playing under 11 c grade on a Saturday morning FFS!!!
-
@Gunner Isn't that about what Douglas Jardine said?
Short answer to your question is that he won't stop.
But, to be honest, I'm not that comfortable with Wag's modus operandi. If he was an Australian I'd be screeching about him.
I'm somewhat surprised, given his success, that other teams haven't developed their own Wagners. In particular, new and improved versions that do the same thing but at 150kms.
Not sure that's a good way for cricket to go - though we've been there before with the Windies in the 1980s.

Fuck sake @Gunner please provide a warning that was a Reason hit piece.
I'll edit your post so others can avoid my mistake!!

@Chris-B maybe it's the fact he's not top drawer pace that takes the edge off. I know 135km hitting your melon ain't good, but once it starts coming faster that really amplifies the risk.
Plus his accuracy is also a factor, if he sprayed it more often then I reckon he'd see more negative feedback. -
@Paekakboyz I guess two things - (i) At 135kms any decent batsman is probably going to be pretty successful in evading it; and (ii) It's not exactly a surprise - everyone knows it's coming - the surprise ball is the one he pitches up.
-
I have no problem with Wagner. He cracked 1,500 test overs in the past test and I'm yet to see him:
- Bowl with intent to hit the batsman (particularly on the head, particularly to tail enders).
- Bowl with recklessness where beamers are possible. (Brett Lee was the master of this, he never bowled a ball where it seemed like he wanted to take the bastman's head off but he took a very "whatever happens, happens" approach.
The day he does either of those I'll start raising an eyebrow.

Am I mistaken or is there no rule that says you can't bowl into the body or at head height? Reason should stick to stick ball

Can bowl 2 above shoulder height per batsman per over.
Wagner is aiming more chest/rib height, skiddy with his stature.

Bloody rubbish start this morning, Bangles 42-0. Don't think we've bowled any right lines this morning

I was being sarcastic. Wagner is totally within the rules and his schtick is nothing compared to the antics the aussie quicks used to pull
