    Its a shame Savea didn't follow in his footsteps and move in from the wing. He has the size, still has good pace. Just needed to learn to pass.

    He has played a couple of games there for Toulon and didn't look horribly out of his depth.

    Saveas number one problem was not having SBWs management team cos he got discarded on the back of far fewer ordinary games...

    Yeah but all wingers slow down. We've seen it all before it seems the smart ones or the more skilled ones. Tana, Ma'a can move into the midfield and prolong their careers. Hopefully Reiko is reading this.

    Your little war on SBW is cute, but Savea played at least 20 ordinary games before being dropped (only broken up by the French test in RWC).

    Reiko would like to get some practice in the midfield but he's too scared of the Fern Blues fans.

    @MN5

    Him or Bert Cooke, but Bert would be too wee for the modern game.

    @MN5

    But he was an Invincible. Bert Cooke was one helluva player by all accounts. Ran like Christian Cullen. Tackled like Michael Jones.

    too wee for the modern game, I think he has been to wee for a few generations of our game, he was about 1.75cm and under 65kg, he'd be too wee for most 1st 15 mid-fields.

    Great of his time without a doubt though.

    Blues fans are fine with him at centre, it's when he gets put at 12 we complain. Reiko's had plenty of time in the midfield already anyway, and it's obvious that's where he'll eventually end up. He already has good distribution skills and vision. Where he struggles is defending in the midfield, and he got targeted horribly against the Canes at 12 for that reason.

    I see SBW has moved into the slot previously occupied by Charlie Ngatai then Akira Ioane this week ...

    You can see Nonu in action here (and loose forward "Matt Mitch"):

    @Tim I'd feel very happy if Nonu proves to be close to his 2015 form. I'd say Shag would be too

    He should have joined the Crusaders to make the most of the preferential treatment then.

    If he is part of the reason Blues turn a corner this year then I will be happy to have him black!

    He looks great physically. If he's up with the pace he's a strong chance. Not like any of his competition have nailed their spots down

    Probably not, not unless there are lots of midfield injuries.

    But it is great to have him back in NZ and I think he has had a really positive impact on the Blues and their younger players.
