UPSET!!!! Raiders go into Melbourne and pip the Storm 12-10 to get the bye next week.
Manly without Turbo Tommy are pumping Cronulla 18-4 at halftime. SJ has been terrible.
The Wahine Warriors get off to a good start in their WNRL competition by beating the Roosters 16-12 which is awesome because one of my colleagues plays for the Warriors.

@Sneakdefreak A warriors team that wins. Something new everyday.

I reckon we will get a raiders v roosters gf now ,
Raiders into a home prelim, storm into the other side of the draw where they would have to win next week, then beat the roosters in Sydney to make it .

Broncos got their beans today. Passive defence and no respect for the ball.
Sets up an interesting clash with the Storm next weekend.

In a massive shock, the team that limped in to the finals with a losing record was a bit shit. Still no excuse for that final score.
Brisbane have a shitload of work to do. They've got some good young forwards (even if a couple are a bit dim) but they have nothing in the spine. Nothing. There hooker is very average, they've got a QCup level halfback, a finished ex-fullback at 6, and a half playing fullback.
Cronulla fans have realised that just watching SJ highlight reels doesn't show the real story. They too were making up the numbers.

The news story of the week is the implosion at Brisbane.
Reports a few of the boys were playing the pokies until nearly midnight the night before the semi. Not the end of the world, but a terrible look when you get absolutely belted the next day.
The NRL media smell blood in the water, and are circling to get another coach sacked. So of course Seibold has "lost the dressing room".
The entire club is devoid of leadership. There is no one on field who they can turn to when it gets touch. Their gun young forwards look great going forward, not so good on the other side of the ball.
And, to follow my post above, reports out Boyd is on the outer, McCulloch and Bird have been told they can find other clubs, and Milford is copping heat from all angles. I would imagine a couple of other guys will get the chop as well.

Not sure of the duration of said player contracts but do know that they are on big money.
However the NRL is littered with other
dumbclubs that will find new ways to open the cheque book for some of these washed up players. -

Sneak, what will this mean for the club? Are we in good hands or not?
-
I've always felt it's better to have one owner than two (or 32 if you count all the Auckland rugby league clubs separately). Dunno anything about the Autex family except they have some history with Pt Chev Pirates.
-
Aren't owners less important than a competent front office? Who pays the bills has to come second to the guys in charge of building a football department and making intelligent roster and contract decisions surely?
-
Collection of deplorables left playing for a GF spot.
Only saving grace is one of the Roosters and Melbourne won't make it
Tonight is the battle of a couple of coaches i can't stand. If i had to choose one side to hope wins, i guess i will take the Raiders as it would be their first GF since 1994. But the thought of Ricky Stuart having a crack at a Premiership...
And then the battle of the perennial finalists. Roosters looking to be the first team to go back to back in like a hundred years. Melbourne looking to make their 419th GF in a row. Can both teams lose?
-
Grand Final will be Souths V Sydney City. It's rigged.
-
Seeing Ricky Stuart blowing up in the coaches box after a turnover is hilarious.
If it’s Raiders and Storm grand final there will be more footage of Stuart and Bellamy than the actual game given both of their carrying on.
-
Loaded field, but Sam Burgess might be the dumbest fluffybunny in the NRL

He's also a protected fluffybunny - takes a guy out with a high shot and the commentators go on for 10 minutes about poor Sam hurting himself doing it.
Saw the Storm team in Darling Harbour this morning, would have joined them coffee @jegga but they chose a shit tourist trap place for breakfast. They're staying in the new fancy Sofitel and on the whole they're a lot smaller than I thought they'd be.
-
Raiders vs Storm would be a good "fuck you" to Sydney.
SF2 would have been the NRL's preferred final.
I actually think they would’ve liked a Souths v easts given their rivalry,
I’m hoping for a storm v raiders to stick it up Sydney but don’t think it’s happening...... but haven’t given up totally.
