NRL 2019

It doesn't excuse all the shitty decisions that warriors management make, but you know this is true
-
It's unbelievable how little the NRL cares about credibility.
The perpetually suspended Sam Burgess (star player) whacks a guy in the head so hard he is missing this week with concussion. The panel reduced the charge to grade 1 and let him off with a tiny fine.

And meanwhile, a little boy waits

well, that was fucked, 3 tackles all the same with 3 different outcomes (star player received smallest "sanction")
What about Kikau the other week? It's like every week there is a new and random inconsistency in sanctions given

You all seem surprised that the average mental capacity of past and present players is reflected in the administration of the game.

the only thing that surprises is that they try and portray themselves as professional
Though i guess, when the only people who give even a little fuck about your game live along the one coast of one country, then you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want really.
It started with "you need ex-players on the judiciary, only they have a feel for the game"
which has become
"oh yeah, league players are, in the main, complete deadshits"

Nothing less than you would expect from a regional sport. AFL are a regional oddity too. Are their judiciary as poor?

depends on who you talk to. They have far less to deal with. But fans will still tell you the judiciary have it in for their team.

After all the shenanigans, we still need them more than they need us

I mean NZ league needs the NRL and it is valuable to have a franchise in the comp

@Rancid-Schnitzel I hope I'm around to see it. This season is broken now. We need a major clean out, from the top down. Whoever gave Nikorima all that money needs to be fired. Kearney has to go, he doesn't seem to be able to extract the required passion and energy from the boys. We lack onfield leadership so our forwards lack mongrel, many of them (especially Luke and Blair) have to go. Go scouting in Oz and find a back rower and a prop to toughen up the pack, in the Luck/Campion/Price mould. They don't have to be top dollar, unless they are top class, but they need to have a chip on their shoulder and want to work hard (ie James Graham a couple of years back). I don't want anymore passengers. Maybe grab a Gattis/Henderson type hooker while we are there. Dump as many of our big contracts as possible and free money up to buy quality workhorses, not the bunch of bottlers we have now. I don't think RTS cuts it as a captain, too nice. He doesn't harass the refs, he doesn't seem to rark up the forwards. Coach will be difficult. I think look back to what made Cleary good; ex-Warrior, consummate pro, even tempered, supportive to his players but firm. Lets do it all now

The thing is, all this talk of bias, lack of respect etc was exactly what was coming out of the Brisbane press in the early days of the Broncos. Much of it was actually justified as well. I wholeheartedly agree with what Raz said a few weeks ago that the Warriors will never be considered an equal until they start becoming a threat. Would be exactly the same for Melbourne if it wasn't for Bellamy and his Qld talent. The Reds, Rams, Crushers and the 90 other GC teams were also treated like shit.
When the Warriors launched I thought they'd be a continued powerhouse because they could access the cream of the NZ talent like the Broncos did with Qld back in the day. Certainly hasn't turned out that way.
