Fuck the warriors are fucking shit. Easily outplayed by a limited Newcastle side
Yep, and came out way worse after the inspiring halftime talk.

Well I went along to the game because I'm a season ticket holder and yeah, they were outplayed by a Newcastle side that ran at Harris-Tevita all day, kicked away from Tuivasa-Sheck all day and took the two points when the Warriors gave away penalties on their goal line all day.
Positives:
First time watching Patrick Herbert play live and for a unknown who was number six or seven on the centre depth chart, he looks like a bargain buy for the club. Also means the club can release Beale and Kata this year and go with Hiku, Herbert, Milne and Keighran as their centre options in 2020.Another young player who looks the goods is Hayze Perham. I don't know how the Warriors are going to fit him in their line up (unless the plan is to move Tuivasa-Sheck into stand off in 2021) but he's the club's best prospect.
Negatives:
Pretty much looking like another Warriors season of shit start, pick it up around Origin, and fall away in the home straight to finish 10th or 11th.
The veteran guys aren't stepping up when needed (apart from Tuivasa-Sheck) and their game plan is out of date. When Kodi Nikorima is named in the halves next week (Harris-Tevita was pulled from the final 10 minutes of today's game so that's him done for 2019 - 5 games if you were counting) Kearney needs to just go back to the old Kiwis game plan of hooker and halfback sprinting out of the dummyhalf every second tackle because that's actually working for rival clubs..
-
To me the main difference today was the Knights kicking game was on point, where as most of our attacking kicks were 5m too deep.

I thought I locked this thread...
We looked passive and directionless in that second half. Newcastle built pressure and did that simple things well which they haven’t really done much of this season.
Where’s that fork?
-
@ACT-Crusader farrrrk. Man, sometimes you've just got to look in the mirror and realise you are shit.

Here it is

Ivan Cleary is a shit coach
The Broncos are in disarray, couple of guys will be sent to Qld Cup this week, but not the one who deserves it most
Canberra don't suck, which is astounding
I'm not sure what is going to stop the Roosters going back to back, but something will.
Did i hear a stat that Kearney has a 31% winning record as a coach? How the fuck does he have a job? Where we really that good last year?

My theory is the selection panel is normally made up of people at least as dumb so they see a resume with a decade of experience in multiple clubs and hey presto, No one ever seems to ask, why is it that you never manage to coach a team to the finals? Or why don't we take a punt on someone who doesn't have a losing record?

my first ever Warriors game, and I am barely looking forward to it.

@Sneakdefreak Nikorima will be wondering WTF he got himself into. His giant pile of cash will make him feel a little better

@canefan He also won't cop the flak like he did in Brisbane so he will probably be happy even if it turns into a rebuilding year for 2020 (which it will).
It's always a transition/rebuilding year with us

... when we finally get to ring that victory bell

Considering the number of people flying in to Brisbane in different club jerseys right now, this magic round might be a success

Are there no home games in this round (well Brisbane aside I guess) or did the teams with home games have to just lump it?
If the Warriors weren't more awful than usual I would have gone up as my mate offered me his tickets and it would be good to catch up with my family in Brisbane.

The Warriors are so poop right now. They're not getting basics right, no co-ordination on attack, leaky on defence, looking decidedly second-rate.
Tuned in hoping to see some effort and a good game, but nope.
