If Wales lose, I'm looking forward to seeing Gatland's face when a reporter asks the inevitable "Have Wales remembered how to lose Warren?" question...
And I'm a quasi-Wales supporter.
No shame in losing to this Irish side.
They're no mugs.

I think it could be the game of the tournament. Perhaps even the lineout might actually work..

If it doesn't it's going to be a VERY long afternoon

Bonus point win. Thatβll do me.
The bonus point system has been a real positive for the 6N's.
Looking forward to the Taffs v Oirish fandango on Saturday. Think the Jocks might struggle away at Twickenham.
Smarter people than me have worked the Bonus Point system out.
England beat Scotland with a bonus point (5pts) and they finish on 20pts
Wales beat Ireland with no bonus point (4pts) and they also finish on 20pts
With England's superior points difference then England take the title.
But wait, Grand Slam winners get a 3pt bonus
So Wales end up with 23pts, the Grand Slam and the 6N Championship.
And all is right in the world.
Easy

@MiketheSnow I did hear that the 3 points bonus for winning the Grand Slam was an afterthought after someone clever had pointed out that it would be possible to take the GC and still not win the Championship.
Wouldn't surprise me.

Either way, the correct decision.
So Wales 'JUST' need to win on Saturday.
Expect a monumental defensive effort.

Absolutely the correct decision. To win the GS and still lose would be ridiculous.
I think the game will go one of two ways, either a reasonably comfortable win for Ireland or a bloody hard fought game that could go either way. I'd like to wish your boys well but, well, you know.
BTW, had a great day out in Cardiff for the England match (barring the result).

Give their names to Theresa May...

I can't make out if Ireland have been figured out or just haven't clicked this year.
Do you think Gatland will use the same rope-a-dope tactics he used against England?

Bit of A and bit of B I think.
Which has been the story for Ireland, England and Scotland.
Wales has been consistent in producing a very average 40 mins and a decent 40 mins in each match. Plus consistently good defence at the business end of the match.
I don't expect Wales to play any differently and neither does Ireland.
Cato has it right, Irish walkover or arm wrestle to the death.
-
Roofgate popped up in the news.
Last outing Ireland gave the choice to Wales and then accused them of watering the pitch to paddy status. Thought that would have been advantage Ireland actually.
Wales had asked 6N committee to intervene and rule on closing the roof - shit weather, I mean really shit weather forecast.
Schmidt keeping us guessing.
It's about time the rules were changed.
We took steps to mitigate against the weather, built it, and should be able to call the shots.
-
@Victor-Meldrew comes with the territory of being a 'top' team.
For decades teams have looked at the ABs style of play, to try and replicate or absorb into thier play.
I expect Ireland have had thier game plans under a microscope even more since rolling the ABs, which would have been good on both counts in seeing the structures used to beat the ABs but also will have highlighted thier own limitations, and I think that is the thing, they play a fairly simple game, but you push them on that, thier systems dont seem to work as well...#noplanb

Agreed - it's your stadium.

Wales v Ireland is going to be 1915-esque trench warfare. Irish one-off runners smacking in to committed Welsh tacklers. Over and over and over again. The only difference is they didn't really need to worry about air raids in 1915.
So the plan is either box kick, or 45 short phases. It will be epic. Navidi and Tipuric will barely be able to stand on Monday.
Just on the other thing, the "# BPs for a GS" thing is such a cop-out. If a team is good enough to win 4 games and also get 5 bonus points, then they have at least some claim to a title if the other side can't even muster a solitary bonus point in 5 games. Should have just made the tie-breaker the head-to-head result.

Note first air raid was in 1915, first airborne attack 1911 π
Which is the same as giving 3 points to slam winner, as by definition the slam winner will have win the head to head.

Unbeaten always sits better than rolling over weak teams IMHO

Oh Schmidt you shit.
Less rope-a-dope more bar of soap.
The roof stays open.
The Paddy Fields of Athenry.
Advantage Ireland.
