Its going to make SR 20/20 very interesting, a new Coach usually means some causalities from the year before especially after WC.
If it ends up being Robertson he will I imagine like he has at the Crusaders plan for future years through to the next WC.
You would expect whoever gets the Coaches Job will do the same and will be looked at as the coach for the 4 year Cycle in some form in the contract.
It would be unwise to replace a coach half way through the 4 year cycle.

Unless you have 1998 type results back to back.

yep, certainly a danger if you tie someone up for 4 years...should be 2 years with extension option dependant on specific performance/development criteria

Could we find a generous corporate to allow us to buy Luatua out of his Bristol contract?

Goodhue and ALB look like the new Nonu and Smith. They could be the starting midfield for 10 years. Most settled part of the team.

Just need to get them playing for the same SR team. I.e. Auckland... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Four tests starting together and they are the most โ€œsettledโ€

We really do have problems. Razor to the rescue

We didn't see enough of Luke Jacobson, Dalton Papali'i, Will Jordan or Damian McKenzie at international level in 2019. All had injuries woes.

All four, if injury free, should be regulars in the All Blacks 23 in 2020.

Would be a good idea. They could play some European club sides and the Pacific Nations Cup teams.

Useful from a development perspective, but I also wonder about a strategic measure. It ties guys to us so once they're overseas they're not able to qualify under residency.

The Junior All Blacks were originally an Under 23 Team and famously beat the real All Blacks 14 - 10 at Carisbrook in 1973 under the captaincy of Bruce Gemmell.

Yeah I remember some consternation when they originally announced the name. I always preferred Shadow All Blacks personally.

Potential NZ "B" squad for 2020 (uncapped players only ?) :

Props : Ross, O'Neill, Fidow, Tuilamo (he was injured this year but his size could guarantee a seat there)
    Hookers : Taukeiaho, Makalio
Locks : IWL, Franklin, Scrafton, Whetton
Loose forwards : Robinson, Sotutu, Gibson, Douglas, Havili, TBN
Scrumhalves : Fakatava, Judd (leaving ?)
1st Fives : Perofeta, Trask, McClutchie
2nd Fives : Nankivell, Faiane, Walden
    Centres : Tupaea, Thompson
Wings : Alaimalo, L. Fainganuuku, Rayasi, Lam (Nareki and Clarke with the 7s)
Full backs : ?????????? (Stevenson, Narawa, McKay, Trainor : no great option there)
