I really enjoyed that fight. Both fighters could have won by stoppage. Rematch should be good too!

Have always liked how touch Usyk is. Just keeps going forward.

Think it should have been unanimous.

@dogmeat Yeah, don't know how a judge can find 7 rounds in there for Fury. Even 6 for Fury and you're clutching at straws.

I would say that losing 115-112 was the best scorecard that Fury could have hoped for.

When was the last time two white guys fought for the heavyweight title ?

Or is it not PC to ask that ?

    Klitschko v Fury?

    Undisputed? A lot longer

That’s what I meant, it gets pretty murky, confusing and hard to answer with all the different belts.

I think without intervention Fury would've been stopped in the ninth rendering the judges inconsequential.

Yeah the ropes and the end of the round definitely saved him.

So many people having a go at Fury and yes he can be a ‘dosser’ but I’d like to think this exchange ( which I pinched from a boxing page on FB ) actually happened….

Tyson Fury: 'Good work Oleksandr. You're a strong man and a very good boxer. Very good, my brother. In Christ.'

Oleksandr Usyk: 'Listen, I started preparing for you when you were boxing in 2008, European champion.'

Tyson Fury: 'Thank you my brother, you're a very good boxer. I love it, I love it, good moves. I'd like to come to Ukraine with my family and have a holiday with your family and you can come to my house and have a holiday with me.'

Oleksandr Usyk: 'No problem, my friend.'

Watched the fight again , there is a common theme with usyk fights , he takes fighters into deep water with their fitness levels, then he steps up the pace to another level and they can’t go with him .

Fury appeared to be right in the fight and even in front on many peoples scorecards middle rounds, then 7 and 8 you sensed something was changing . Fury no longer looked the much bigger man , usyk s footwork was getting him into good position where he could hit him, and then 9 he finished him , not literally, but there was nothing left .

Although usyk is the older man , fury appears further into his decline , hard to see the rematch being different at this point .

Sad to see how shot Wilder is now. I enjoyed his career, was always in entertaining scraps, but it's clear that Fury broke him pretty bad and he's now a shadow of his former self.

I do hope he calls it a day now and doesn't become an opponent for guys to boost their resumes.

I’m sure he has enough cash. His wife was on one of those celebrity real estate shows looking at a flash pad for them, mind you he does have eight kids !

But yeah, very sad decline. He fought an epic trilogy with Fury but that clearly fucked up both men all things considered.

@MN5 Yeah, 8 kids to 4 different women too haha.

But yeah, the last fight with Fury which was just a straight out slugfest, that would have taken years off his career. I honestly think he'd struggle to beat someone like Dereck Chisora now he's that far gone.

I really hope we don't see him again I'm a ring.

Just saw this pop up on the sports news and had forgetten that Mikhailovich was lined up to fight Alimkhanuly for the IBF and WBO middleweight titles next month in Las Vegas.

I've bene following him for some time now. Tough lad but this will be a big step up from those he has been in the ring with before. Both unbeaten..

Alimkhanuly should be stripped for not being able to make weight and move up to 168.

Mikhailovich should fight for a vacant title next.
