Current Standings
- NZ
- CAN
- ENG
- FRA
- ITA
- AUS
- USA
- WAL
Matches to come
ENG v SA
NZ v SCO
CAN v USA
FRA v FIJ
ITA v JAP
AUS v WALObviously the game most likely to upset the standings is AUS v WAL. Winner of that could determine rank 6 or 8 and loser will likely face NZ for a rematch in the Quarters
Apart from that I can see ENG moving up to 2, pushing CAN down.
Predicted quarters: (
NZ v AUS
ENG v USA
CAN v WAL
FRA v ITA -
We finally see a ref trying to stop the play past the ball at the ruck.
Wales struggling with defence when players carry at angles and into half gaps two or three out like they did against the BFs.
Oz commentator getting on my wick when he goes into league mode when excited. -

She's rightly penalised Wales once for cleaning out from the side, but basically ignored it since.
She's warned both sides about staying up on attack as the latcher, then completely failed to penalise anyone.
Some of the ruck work being let go (both ways) is highly suspect.
Australia can win this if they use the wind but McKenzie has a pop gun for a boot.

@NTA yea plenty of side entry at rucks.
Had a few of the Wallaroos at my gym last week along with Kerevi, who while a unit, wasn't as big as i expected.

English referee has kept the welsh in this game , how a couple of those scrums outside the Wales 22 were not penalties were beyond me , agreed with Aussie coach
-
Early hit by Wales , nothing done
-
Did our best to fucking murder any chance we had to win with some shit discipline and poor decision making on the carry. I reckon of our dozen handling errors or more, at least half were in Wales' 22.
The starting 9 is crippling anything resembling an attack from 10 outwards.
Just lucky that Wales had no ball, and threw away what they did.

Wales panicked and didn't play the grind, like they should have. Was their only chance

We whacked their scrum tho and they didn't get their maul going. They should have made hay in the first half with the wind.

NZ vAUSWAL
ENG v USA
CAN vWALAUS
FRA v ITAItaly not getting away from Japan at the moment but so far that looks like the quarters. A japan upset could shift AUS and ITA around.
NZ will be playing Wales though and that's a good thing. After Wales went away from their strengths against Abs that won't do the same again so it will be a test to see how our (hopefully) best pack handles a strong scrum and maul.
We will likely have three NH teams in a row if we make the final.
France look to have an excellent defence but we having really seen it tested. England just continually bashed against them of shuffled the ball wide and France did the same to England in return. The semi will be the true marker of whether relentless attack and offloading will beat the NH way.
This is great. It is like early pro mens game when the ABs would run around the 10 man styles. -
Just got in from watching the Womens RWC games at Waitakere Stadium , first game Italy v Japan was a tough watch but the 2nd game between Canada and the USA was a good contest with Canada prevailing 29-14
The Canadians were quick with their ruck ball getting some superb late offloads to punch holes through the middle .
Was impressed with centre Canadian centre Alysha Corrigan , looks a classy player with pace and vision .Watched half of the England v South Africa game before calling it quits
England far too good up front watching them from close up as they walked out before kick off , they are bloody huge across the board and from what I was told it’s their 2nd string team they rolled out .
It’s a shame South Africa did’nt get more ball in the hands of fullback Elliose Webb and winger Nadine Roos as they both look super quickOverall a great day , plenty of Families and heaps of kids having fun
