Just tuned in, what's going on?
Wales under the pump, many many penalties, but still no card. Refs are still not good enough. Scotland No 8 just stretchered off. Wales was all over then first half, but equal in the second
Oh previous scrum was a proper tightness, ball kept nicely at Scotland's feet until Wales collapsed it. Should've been yellow there, better late than never

Yeah that was what I was wondering about, they didn't say why everyone was standing around and weren't showing any shots.

Looks like arm or similar

Everyone in Northland saw that was a yellow, apart from the ref. Jeez
Edit I'm sure the ref was saying 13 and holding up 13, luckily the correct Welsh player copped it and went off anyway
Director got it 😜

The English women might have been professional for a few years but they aren't paid big bucks, at least not from the RFU. The article about their win bonuses states that the average salaries range from NZ$50-61K. The top BFs, by comparison, are now reported to earn $100K+.
I've no idea what English club salaries may be.

The club salaries aren't huge either and even together you aren't going to get rich. Most contracted BFs would be around 65-70 including matches but don't get anything else unless they can command sponsor payments.
Money isn't the point though, it is the ability to concentrate more time on training and on the game with more ability for teams to camp and train together without players having to take time off work.
Obviously the Sevens were the first to go down this path and even they had to create a base location so the players could avoid too much travel if they want. Hence plenty of players live at the Mount these days. Our XVs players don't currently get enough games at any level, especially higher ones compared to England and are a few years behind in combination game play and training. Strength and conditioning programmes also don't have to be designed to fit within work schedules now.
None of this is excuses, just stating the current position in progress and acknowledging that it will take a few years to catch up. It won't be long until we are grouped in that pro echelon and it will be the Aussies and others fighting to stay relevant.

Our girls are getting good money for fuck all games! Pisses me off things like the SR are home and away and then semi/finals. And there are no where near enough internationals
Regular games are being fixed next year with the new WR comp. Hardly 'good money' if you are having to pay out for childcare and travel on top or a partner has to curtail their work to support you.
The next level down is a real problem in finding the balance when two thirds of the players don't get paid and cant afford the time off.
Hopefully we can drive demand up to a point where there is better reimbursement at that level so a longer comp can happen and players can stay in camp all week.

Just bumped into a retired ex-workmate. The USA team is training at our club, but apparently, the French have too. One of our old club codgers bailed up the French coach, after what my mate said was a pretty accurate session.
'When I was coaching... blah blah blah'
Hopefully, a good dinner story for the French coach if they have a sense of humour!
