@pakman Akira needs to leave the Blues if he wants to be an All Black. Come and get some work ethic off Ardie Savea. 😁
Yeah reports about Ardie are that his work ethic is next level, polar opposite to his brother. Whether it's the Canes or somewhere else Akira needs to shake things up, for whatever reason he's not focused enough in Auckland.

Hansen re Akira:
It’s the same problem he’s always had, came into the season not fit enough. He played every game for the blues and at the same time was trying to get fit so he’s a tired athlete. We didn’t see the best of him during super rugby.
We know what’s under the surface, we just need him to take ownership. You can lead a horse to water but can’t make it drink.
That is straight to the point and no fucking around ,
Reading between the lines it sounds very much like they have told him what he has to do , and he didnt do it ,
Fucken waste

Just briefly said that others were playing better
-
@KiwiMurph do the Canes need him though? I’m happy with Gareth Evans and I’m looking forward to seeing Devan Flanders develop.
-
@Canes4life Well they were very keen on him last year.
Akira has played well at 6 before (v British Lions for Blues and Maori).

Need no, but a fit Akira is a farking weapon.

Brad Weber in !
However the biggest surprise is Squire's omission. He was in devastating form against the Tahs and I thought before today that he was an automatic choice.
Aumua's selection is the second big surprise IMO. I did not see it coming.
I am happy for Josh Ioane, Luke Jacobson, B. Ennor and Sevu Reece who have been very good this year. I rate Jacobson higher than Frizell or Fifita. I just hope his concussion problems are now behind. -
@KiwiMurph if he comes, hopefully he brings his bro aswell.
-
@Canes4life Don't get greedy.

Pretty happy with that squad. Glad to see a few uncapped players being named, and am excited about Ennor's selection in particular. Every WC squad needs a bolter, hopefully one of the young guys from this squad can make it. Harris needs to work on his throwing and so does Aumua, but Aumua offers a bit more around the park so can understand him getting the nod.
-
@KiwiMurph was another he was outstanding in too, was it v the Jags?
I like the way he plays though

Jacobson probably played the best game at 6 of any Kiwi in Super Rugby this year (Chiefs v Highlanders in Dunedin).
There was also a Chiefs home game where he played in all 3 loose forwards positions during the match. Hansen noted his and Papali'i's versatility.

I think the third best hooker this season was Makalio. He was very consistent and has incredible good hands. Maybe he is not of international standard in terms of mobility though. I am more impressed by Taukeiaho (spelling ?) than by Aumua. He is a bigger beast and has a better workrate. His LO throwing must be improved but Aumua's must too.
