Ireland vs All Blacks (2018)

Last scrum of the half much better.
Given the penalty count I will take that half time scoreline.
My biggest concern in this match was Ireland coming out of the blocks fast and getting away to a big lead early on before we work into the match.
Epic 2nd 40 coming up.

Interesting comment by the referee that that next penalty offence committed by the visiting team will see a player invited to spend ten minutes in the sin bin. That presumably means that if the next penalty the All Blacks concede is hot on the Irish goal line in the 79th minute they are automatically subjected to a player being yellow carded.

Karl t a massive weakness tonight. Both scrumming and around the park
I wonder if his fitness is finding him out?
He looked absolutely buggered at about the 35 minute mark.

Still think Barrett doesn't have the passing game to beat a defence like this.

@paekakboyz We haven't looked like breaking their line at all. Our attack looks very predictable and our defence is passive as per usual. They look a lot more organised and have a heap of backline moves. They look better coached to be honest.

So we are getting done at scrum time, not winning the contact in D, and racking up a lot of penalties? If so Ireland are not getting much profit points-wise. Although a yellow would open things up... are we flustered with ball in hand? Looking likely to break their line?
Ireland’s defence is very good so not easy to find a way through. On D our timing of the rush is wrong more often than not.

Ireland well on top. Disappointing to see our scrum go backwards. We can't really do anything to stop them keeping the ball on attack. We just have to be smart about whether we concede penalties. Read's penalty for offside was really dumb at the end there.
We have sort of attacked like Ireland when we have had the ball. We have shown a bit of patience but haven't got the quick ball to break their line.

Ireland defense is always good in the first 40, hard to recall a game where we have opened them up early on. 60 minutes on is when we start to chance our arm a bit more, going to be a very interesting second half.

Ireland playing all the rugby on the back of a shitload of penalties. Not really doing a lot with it though.
Great defence both sides, not many missed tackles out there.
I think we’ve just got to keep plugging away, a chance or two will present itself and we’ve just got to bloody nail them when they do. -

I’m starting to think BB at 10 has a real problem reading the field when he’s got the defence in his face. Looking for a weakness in the air that isn’t there in Ireland’s back 3 isn’t working.

That is where my optimism lies ,
All about possession though and Ireland winning up front , that’s where my pessimism lies
